The Obernai Market Square in Concert

The Estivales d'Obernai were born in 2006 from the city's desire to liven up summer evenings in an exceptional heritage setting. Obernai's Market Square, one of the most beautiful squares in Alsace, offers a magical backdrop for these concerts: colorful half-timbered houses, a Renaissance Halle aux Blés (corn exchange), a fountain dedicated to Sainte Odile (patron saint of Alsace), and the majestic illuminated Kappelturm belfry create a fairytale setting.

Five Saturday Evenings Under the Stars

Each summer, Les Estivales offer five free concerts on Saturday evenings from early July to early August. The programming is eclectic and popular, mixing French variety music, rock, pop, chanson, and tribute bands. The 2025 edition (20th anniversary) opened with Gilbert Montagné and concluded with the U2 Project, featuring artists of various styles.

A Friendly and Accessible Concept

The concept of Les Estivales is simple and effective: starting at 7 PM, a food and drink area is set up on the square with musical entertainment provided by Beck's. Visitors enjoy local specialties on terraces before the main concert, which begins at nightfall, around 9 PM. Admission is completely free, making Les Estivales a truly popular and family-friendly event.

In two decades, Les Estivales have become one of the unmissable summer events on the Alsace Wine Route. The beauty of the setting, the quality of the programming, and free admission attract thousands of spectators each summer—both tourists and locals—for evenings that celebrate the Alsatian art of living at its finest.
