Baroque and romantic music festival in the Morvan
The Estivales de Chalaux is an intimate and refined music festival held every summer in the village of Chalaux, nestled in the heart of the Morvan Regional Natural Park, in the Nièvre region. This musical event offers a high-quality program in an exceptional natural setting.
The festival focuses on chamber music and small ensembles, particularly suited to the intimate venues that host the concerts:
The festival hosts top-level professional musicians, including mezzo-soprano Sylvie Bedouelle and pianist Denis Comtet, who have enchanted audiences in previous editions with their interpretations of Schubert's lieder.
Concerts take place in two emblematic village locations:
Chalaux is a small village in the Nièvre department located in the Morvan, near the Chaumeçon Lake. Surrounded by deciduous forests and granite hills, the village offers a peaceful and rejuvenating setting, ideal for enjoying music in a preserved natural environment.
Organized by the association Chalaux en Fêtes, the Estivales aims to create connections between permanent residents, second-home owners, and tourists visiting the Morvan. The festival contributes to the cultural life of this rural and mountainous area while providing access to high-quality classical music in a rural setting.
Chalaux is located in the Morvan, 25 km east of Lormes and 50 km southeast of Clamecy.
Concerts at Chalaux Church and Le Gîte du Pont.
