The biggest rock festival in France on the Malsaucy Peninsula
Since 1989, Les Eurockéennes de Belfort has established itself as the most emblematic rock festival in France. Every summer, the Malsaucy Peninsula hosts over 130,000 festival-goers for four days, coming to vibrate to the rhythm of world-class headliners on four open-air stages. Rock, metal, electro, hip-hop, and world music blend together in an exceptional natural setting just a few kilometers from the Lion of Belfort.
Since their first edition in 1989, Les Eurockéennes de Belfort have forged an international reputation that needs no further introduction. Born under the name "Le Ballon" on the Malsaucy site in Sermamagny, then renamed Eurockéennes in 1990, they are now established as the biggest rock festival in France, attracting over 130,000 festival-goers to the Malsaucy Peninsula every summer.
The festival takes place on the Malsaucy Peninsula, a classified natural site bordered by the Malsaucy and Véronne lakes, 9 km from Belfort. This unique lakeside setting allows for the installation of four open-air stages, including the Grande Scène which can accommodate tens of thousands of spectators. A giant campsite, varied food options, exhibitions, and entertainment complete the experience on this "territory" dedicated to celebration and culture for four days.
Les Eurockéennes have successfully moved beyond the strict boundaries of rock to embrace all contemporary music genres: metal, punk, electro, hip-hop, indie, pop, reggae, world music… Each edition features a succession of global legends and carefully selected emerging artists on stage. The festival has hosted major acts such as Radiohead, The Prodigy, Daft Punk, Arcade Fire, Björk, Metallica, Pearl Jam, Amy Winehouse, and hundreds of others since its inception.
The 35th edition, from July 3rd to 6th, 2025, brought together nearly 130,000 festival-goers over four days – the second-best attendance in the festival's history. The headliners lived up to all expectations: Iron Maiden delivered an epic heavy metal performance on Thursday, DJ Snake provided an explosive electro night on Friday, Clara Luciani offered a sunny pop stage on Saturday, and Damso + Justice closed with a blend of urban rap and French electro on Sunday.
For its 36th edition, from July 2nd to 5th, 2026, the festival has unveiled an ambitious lineup: The Offspring, Orelsan, Pulp, Aya Nakamura, Ben Harper, Feu ! Chatterton, The Lumineers, The Hives, Airbourne, Vald, Ultra Vomit, and many other artists. Each evening is dedicated to a distinct musical theme – punk/rock, rap/electro, indie/pop, R&B/variety – to offer every festival-goer their moment of grace.
Les Eurockéennes are actively committed to sustainability: waste management, carbon footprint reduction, eco-cups, shuttle services, and solidarity initiatives through Eurocks Solidaires. The festival also supports the emergence of new artists through its residencies (En Résidence Secondaire) and its discovery program.
Organized by the association Territoire de Musiques, the festival generates considerable economic benefits for the Territoire de Belfort and the north of Franche-Comté. With over 500 volunteers and hundreds of jobs created each summer, Les Eurockéennes are more than just a festival: they are a pillar of Belfort's cultural identity.
