Chamber music festival in the Orangery of Parc de Bagatelle
Created in 2008 by the Fondation d'entreprise Banque Populaire, Les Musicales de Bagatelle is a chamber music festival that brings together young musicians, laureates of the Foundation, and established artists each May in the enchanting setting of the Orangery of Parc de Bagatelle, in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne. Under the artistic direction of Rodolphe Bruneau-Boulmier, the festival offers an innovative and joyful program, blending classical repertoire, contemporary creations, and original concert formats, in a spirit of transmission and sharing.
Since 2008, the Fondation d'entreprise Banque Populaire has organized a unique chamber music festival each May: Les Musicales de Bagatelle. The festival takes place in the Orangerie du Parc de Bagatelle, a magnificent 18th-century building nestled in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. This romantic setting, surrounded by the famous rose gardens and landscaped gardens of Bagatelle, offers an unusually intimate musical experience.
The festival's primary mission is to highlight the young musicians who are laureates of the Fondation Banque Populaire, which has supported life projects in the field of music for decades. Les Musicales de Bagatelle provides these emerging artists with the opportunity to perform in exceptional professional conditions, alongside established musicians who share their experience and art.
The artistic direction of the festival is led by Rodolphe Bruneau-Boulmier, a renowned figure in the classical music world, recognized for his ability to design innovative and accessible programs. Under his leadership, Les Musicales de Bagatelle offers original concert formats that transcend the traditional codes of chamber music: themed concerts, cross-genre programs featuring young and established artists, exclusive premieres, and unique collaborations.
Each edition is conceived as a celebration of music, where the curiosity of the performers and the creativity of the artists foster a vibrant synergy between generations. The festival welcomes a diverse audience—discerning music lovers, families, and newcomers—in a spirit of conviviality and discovery.
Since 2013, with the support of regional Banque Populaire banks, Les Musicales de Bagatelle has expanded to the regions, offering concerts in prestigious venues and remarkable heritage sites across France. This national tour allows the Foundation's laureates to reach a wider audience and bring high-quality chamber music to the entire country.
The Orangery of Parc de Bagatelle, built in the 18th century to house the estate's orange trees, has been converted into an intimate concert hall with remarkable acoustics. Its small capacity—around 300 seats—ensures a rare proximity between artists and the audience, making each concert a privileged moment of sharing. Parc de Bagatelle itself, a classified remarkable garden, is an exceptional green setting that festival-goers can explore before and after the concerts.
The 19th edition of Les Musicales de Bagatelle will take place on May 16 and 17, 2026, at the Orangery of Parc de Bagatelle. The program, curated by Rodolphe Bruneau-Boulmier, will feature four thematic concerts blending young talents and established artists.
Les Musicales de Bagatelle returns on May 16 and 17, 2026, to the Orangery of Parc de Bagatelle for its 19th edition. The program, designed by Rodolphe Bruneau-Boulmier, offers four concerts:
