Musical excellence in the most beautiful heritage sites of Normandy
Since 2006, Les Musicales de Normandie has been weaving a unique link between excellence in music and Norman architectural heritage. This touring festival, which unfolds from July to August across the departments of Seine-Maritime and Eure, has become one of Normandy's major cultural events, bringing together thousands of music lovers every summer in settings of exceptional beauty.
The uniqueness of Les Musicales de Normandie lies in its local roots and the quality of its concert venues. Chapelle Corneille and Historial Jeanne d'Arc in Rouen, Romanesque abbeys, Gothic chapels, half-timbered manors, Renaissance castles, and village churches: each location is chosen for its remarkable acoustics and heritage value. Over 30 sites host concerts throughout Normandy, transforming each performance into a dual discovery—musical and architectural.
Every year, the festival offers over 50 concerts covering a wide musical spectrum, from solo recitals to symphony orchestras, including chamber music, opera, and world music. The greatest international performers share the stage with promising young talents, in a program that combines artistic excellence and diverse repertoires.
While classical music is at the heart of the festival, Les Musicales de Normandie also opens its doors to world music, encounters between musical traditions, and contemporary creations. This openness allows it to reach a varied audience and create bridges between cultures, true to the spirit of curiosity and discovery that has driven the festival since its origins.
While concerts are scattered throughout Normandy, Rouen remains the festival's epicenter. The Chapelle Corneille, a former conservatory auditorium with exceptional acoustics, and the Historial Jeanne d'Arc, located in the heart of the archbishop's palace, host the Rouen concerts that traditionally close the festival in late summer.
Les Musicales de Normandie carries a strong ambition for the democratization of access to classical music. By investing in often-overlooked heritage sites in rural communities and small towns, the festival reaches audiences who do not always have access to the cultural offerings of major cities. Prices are deliberately kept affordable, and outreach activities accompany the concerts throughout the season.
Les Musicales de Normandie returns for its 21st edition from July 23 to August 30, 2026. The festival will once again offer over 50 concerts in the most beautiful heritage sites of Normandy.
The program for the 21st edition will be unveiled soon on the website musicales-normandie.com.
Concerts take place in some thirty heritage sites across Seine-Maritime and Eure. Specific locations are announced in the program for each edition.
In Rouen, concerts are held at the Chapelle Corneille and the Historial Jeanne d'Arc.
Tickets are on sale on the Weezevent platform. Advance booking is recommended, as seating capacity is limited by the size of the heritage venues.
Prices vary depending on the concert and venue. The festival maintains an accessible pricing policy. Some concerts are free.
