About Les Pinsonores

Les Pinsonores is a festival of eclectic music and street arts organized every spring in Portbail-sur-Mer in the Manche region by the association La Pépinière. Created in 2022, the festival takes place at the end of April in the Mielles, between the beach and the village of Portbail, opening the festival season in the department. No festival in 2026: Les Pinsonores will return in 2027

The La Pépinière association has announced that the Festival des Pinsonores is taking a break in 2026 and will return in 2027. While the 2025 edition was a public success with nearly 1,800 visitors, it faced a financial deficit; the association's treasury remains stable, but a period of reflection regarding the next edition is necessary. Additionally, the board of directors is undergoing a renewal, with some long-standing members stepping down to make way for new arrivals. This gap year will allow the team to prepare a new format for 2027 while staying true to the festival's core identity. Dates have not yet been announced.

The association will stay connected with its audience through two "Les Pins' indoors" evenings in 2026—intimate indoor events separate from the main festival: Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 8:30 PM at the salle E. Jeanne in Saint-Lô-d'Ourville, featuring UrBAM, MARTA, and DJ Ultimatom for a limited capacity of 200; followed by Saturday, May 2, 2026, starting at 5:00 PM in La Haye-du-Puits, featuring La tente d'Edgar, Brazakuja, Ouaïm'ler, Tales & Ahlam, and the Stepp'Island Sound System.

Les Pinsonores: Portbail's joyful musical migration

Born in 2022 at the initiative of the La Pépinière association (founded in 2019), the Les Pinsonores festival celebrates the joyful return of spring migrations in the Mielles de Portbail-sur-Mer, nestled between the beach and the town. The project, originally planned for 2020, was postponed twice due to the health crisis before successfully launching: 1,600 people attended the first edition, double the 800 expected.

A festival with two faces

Les Pinsonores is both an intergenerational village celebration and an eclectic music festival. Under the main marquee, concerts of various styles get festival-goers dancing, while brass bands and street performers bring the streets and paths to life throughout the weekend. Younger visitors can enjoy a dedicated space with creative workshops, carriage rides, and donkey rides.

Local flavor and conviviality

The festival highlights local producers with a market featuring regional products and food sourced from the area. A relaxation area with wooden games, books, and hammocks offers a chance to recharge between concerts. The festival's giant bird mascot, crafted from recycled materials, symbolizes the event's migratory and ecological spirit.

Additional winter evenings

Beyond the main spring festival, Les Pinsonores also organizes winter musical evenings, featuring intimate electronic and acoustic concerts in a limited-capacity setting of 200, keeping the festival spirit alive year-round. These events take place in Portbail-sur-Mer or neighboring towns in the Côte-des-Isles area.
