Festival of eclectic music, street arts and village festival in Portbail-sur-Mer
Born in 2022 on the initiative of the association La Pépinière (founded in 2019), the Les Pinsonores festival annually accompanies the joyful return of spring migrations in the Mielles of Portbail-sur-Mer, between the beach and the village. The project, initially planned for 2020, was postponed twice due to the health crisis before successfully coming to life: 1,600 people attended the first edition, double the 800 expected.
Les Pinsonores is both an intergenerational village festival and a festival of eclectic music. Under the main big top, concerts of various styles make festival-goers dance, while in the streets and on the paths, brass bands and street performances liven up the weekend. The youngest enjoy a dedicated space with creative workshops, carriage rides, and donkey rides.
The festival showcases local producers with a market of regional products and catering based on local produce. A relaxation area with wooden games, reading, and hammocks allows visitors to unwind between concerts. The festival's giant mascot bird, made from recycled materials, symbolizes the migratory and ecological spirit of the event.
Outside of the main spring festival, Les Pinsonores also organizes winter music evenings in Portbail-sur-Mer, with intimate concerts of electronic and acoustic music in a reduced capacity of 200 seats, extending the festival's spirit throughout the year.
Portbail-sur-Mer is located on the west coast of Cotentin, accessible via the D903 from Barneville-Carteret or the D904 from La Haye-du-Puits. The Mielles site is signposted from the village.
