Les SuPercheries: A Musical Journey Between Baroque and World Music in Le Perche

The festival Les SuPercheries is a unique musical event, blending baroque music and world music in the heritage sites of Le Perche. Created in 2022 by the ensemble L'Escadron Volant de la Reine, this festival invites you on a sonic journey through centuries and continents, from 17th-century Rome to traditional music from around the globe.

An Eclectic and Exotic Program

Each edition of Les SuPercheries is built around an eclectic and exotic musical journey that mixes early music, baroque music, and world music. The 2025 edition, the 4th of its kind, offered a journey from baroque Rome to Bolivia, via Austria and Scandinavia, providing the public with a rich and exotic musical experience.

Exceptional Heritage Venues

The concerts take place in remarkable heritage sites spread across several towns in Le Perche: Romanesque and Gothic churches in Sablons-sur-Huisne and Nocé, historic halls in Nogent-le-Rotrou, and the abbey of Thiron-Gardais. These architectural settings offer acoustics and an atmosphere that enhance the musical performances.

L'Escadron Volant de la Reine

The festival is driven by the ensemble L'Escadron Volant de la Reine, a group specializing in baroque music that has made Le Perche its home. This ensemble, recognized in the early music world, is responsible for the artistic direction of the festival and participates in some concerts, ensuring a first-rate artistic standard.

The very name of the festival—a play on words between "Perche" and "supercheries" (hoaxes/tricks)—reflects the playful and mischievous spirit of the event. Les SuPercheries invites you to be surprised by unexpected musical encounters, to explore little-known repertoires, and to discover the heritage of Le Perche from a new and poetic perspective.

Le Printemps des SuPercheries

In addition to the summer festival, Le Printemps des SuPercheries offers concerts in the spring, extending the musical season and the festival's local roots. These events help maintain a vibrant connection with the public throughout the year.
