The biggest beer festival in France, in the heart of the Parc du Château des Rohan
Since 2012, Brasserie Licorne — heir to a brewing tradition born in Saverne in 1845 — has organized the Fête de la Bière every summer in the prestigious setting of the Parc du Château des Rohan. In just a few editions, the event has established itself as the largest beer festival in France, rivaling German Bierfeste and attracting nearly 49,000 visitors at its last edition.
The festival runs from Thursday to Sunday with a varied program:
Founded in 1845 in Saverne, Brasserie Licorne is one of the last major independent breweries in Alsace. It perpetuates centuries-old artisanal know-how, producing quality beers that reflect the Alsatian terroir and brewing traditions. The Fête de la Bière is an opportunity to discover the entire range, including special editions and creations from the Slash craft brand.
The Château des Rohan, an imposing 18th-century neoclassical building, and its tree-lined park offer a majestic setting for this popular festival. Saverne, nicknamed the "City of Roses," also charms with its Marne-Rhine canal, its half-timbered houses, and its prime location at the foot of the Col de Saverne, the gateway to Alsace.
The 15th edition of the Saverne Beer Festival takes place from Thursday, August 27 to Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the Parc du Château des Rohan. Organized by Brasserie Licorne, France's largest beer festival returns for four days of Alsatian conviviality with tastings of Licorne and Slash beers, catering, musical entertainment, and a children's area.
For its 15th edition, the Saverne Beer Festival takes over the Parc du Château des Rohan from Thursday, August 27 to Sunday, August 30, 2026. Organized by Brasserie Licorne, this event has become France's largest beer festival, offering a family-friendly and convivial atmosphere.
From Thursday to Saturday, evenings run from 5 PM to 11 PM with sweet and savory food stalls (tarte flambée, pretzels, Alsatian specialties), musical entertainment, a children's area, and a selection of Licorne and Slash beers as well as non-alcoholic beverages. On Sunday, from 10 AM to 6 PM, it's American Day with free admission.
