Les Zincs Chantent ! is a local festival that takes over the bars, cafes, and small venues of Ardèche Verte, a territory in northern Ardèche centered around Annonay, every December. Created in 2006 and organized by SMAC 07 — La Presqu'île (Scène de Musiques Actuelles d'Annonay), this festival is based on the principle that chanson is best experienced up close, in everyday places like bars and cafes.

Emerging artists up close to the audience

For three days, about ten emerging artists — singers, singer-songwriters, duos, and small groups — take over the counters and halls of Ardèche Verte for intimate and free concerts. The programming favors French chanson in all its diversity: lyrical chanson, folk chanson, rock chanson, slam, sung poetry. Artists, often at the beginning of their careers, find in Les Zincs Chantent a springboard and an attentive audience, curious for discoveries.

A unique territorial network

The festival's originality lies in its territorial network. Concerts are not concentrated in a single venue but are spread across about ten locations in several towns: Annonay, Boulieu-lès-Annonay, Colombier-le-Vieux, Lalouvesc, Peaugres, and other villages in Ardèche Verte. This decentralized format allows each town to host live music, creating a network of micro-events that animates the region during the winter weekend.

SMAC 07, a cultural player in northern Ardèche

The festival is supported by SMAC 07 — La Presqu'île, a state-recognized contemporary music venue in Annonay. This key institution for contemporary music in northern Ardèche manages the artistic programming, technical production, and logistical coordination of the festival. Beyond Les Zincs Chantent, La Presqu'île programs concerts, artist residencies, and cultural activities for all audiences throughout the year.
