About Littérroirs

Born from the Littérroirs label created in 2024 by Nombre7 editions, the Littérroirs fair in Mulhouse is the first 100% Alsatian terroir literary fair. Hosted in the exceptional setting of the Cité du Train — Patrimoine SNCF, this November event exclusively brings together regional authors and local producers for two days of signings, conferences, and tastings. An original celebration that combines literature and gastronomy in the heart of Europe's largest railway museum.

Littérroirs: When Literature Meets Alsatian Terroir

The Littérroirs fair stems from an innovative literary label created in 2024 by the publishing group Nombre7, which has supported around 550 authors across France for over ten years. The initial observation is simple: regional writers are too often underrepresented in major national literary fairs. Littérroirs reverses this trend by offering a fair composed exclusively of local authors and local producers, to provide visitors with a day dedicated to discovering the cultural and gastronomic heritage of their region.

A Unique Railway Setting in Europe

The choice of the Cité du Train — Patrimoine SNCF as the venue is no coincidence. As the largest railway museum in Europe, this emblematic site in Mulhouse offers a spectacular setting where literary stands and producer stalls stand alongside historic locomotives. Visitors can thus alternate between discovering a regional novel and admiring a century-old steam engine, in a cultural and heritage-rich atmosphere that distinguishes Littérroirs from any other book fair.

Regional Authors in the Spotlight

Each edition brings together about twenty authors from seven regional publishing houses, who come to present and sign their works. Novels, historical accounts, thrillers, essays, children's literature — the diversity of genres represented reflects the richness of literary creation in Alsace and the Grand Est region. Themed conferences, led by the authors themselves, punctuate the two days and allow for in-depth exchanges with the public on various topics: stunts and acting coaching, life stories, history of Protestantism, addictions, spirituality.

Tastings and Local Producers

True to its concept of a 100% terroir fair, Littérroirs invites Alsatian producers to offer tastings of their specialties. Among the exhibitors: artisanal pick-your-own farms, local breweries, and wineries from the Alsatian vineyard. This marriage of books and local products creates a complete sensory experience, where the pleasure of reading extends to the pleasure of tasting.

A Label on a National Tour

Littérroirs is not limited to Mulhouse: in 2025, the label organized six fairs across France — from Albi to Nîmes, from Normandy to Corsica — each highlighting the authors and flavors of its region. The Mulhouse fair, rooted in railway and Alsatian heritage, is one of the flagship events of this tour and aims to become an unmissable annual gathering for lovers of books and terroir in Alsace.

Littérroirs — edition 2026

Second edition of the Littérroirs fair at the Cité du Train in Mulhouse. The 100% terroir book fair returns in November 2026 for a new weekend of literary encounters and tastings in the heart of Alsatian railway heritage.

Second Edition — November 2026

Building on the success of its first edition, the Littérroirs fair returns to the Cité du Train in Mulhouse in November 2026 for a second edition. The fair will once again bring together regional authors and local producers for a weekend dedicated to Alsatian literature and terroir. The detailed program of conferences, the list of invited authors, and participating producers will be announced in the fall of 2026.
