A unique festival in France dedicated to sound
Created in 2003 by a team of radio enthusiasts, Longueur d'Ondes is the only festival in France entirely devoted to radio, podcasts, and sound creation. Supported by the eponymous association based in Brest since 2002, the festival brings together professionals and amateurs every winter around an expanded sound horizon: radio documentaries, sound dramas, podcasts, listening experiences, and meetings with creators.
Five days of listening throughout the city
For five days, at the end of January and the beginning of February, the festival takes over the most beautiful cultural venues in Brest: Le Quartz (national stage), Le Vauban, Le Mac Orlan, Les Ateliers des Capucins, and Océanopolis. These varied spaces allow for adapted listening formats: intimate sessions, conferences, practical workshops, large collective listening sessions, and immersive experiences. The diversity of venues contributes to making each edition a unique experience.
Professional meetings and training
Beyond the festival, Longueur d'Ondes is also a major player in professional training in radio and sound writing. The association offers workshops throughout the year, develops the podcast platform Oufipo, and organizes specialized training sessions. The festival itself includes professional meetings on Thursdays, reserved for players in the radio and podcast sector.
An accessible and friendly event
Longueur d'Ondes stands out for its accessible pricing policy: individual sessions cost 5 euros, admission is free for minors, and reduced rates are offered for students and job seekers. Festival passes and day passes allow you to make the most of the program. This accessibility reflects the association's commitment to democratizing access to sound and radio creation.
