Vibrate to the choirs of Lyon!
Born in 2021 from the passion of five women for the gospel universe, the Lyon Gospel Festival quickly established itself as the unmissable event of its kind in Lyon. Every year in September, the Salle Molière of the Palais de Bondy, a magnificent setting on the banks of the Saône in the 5th arrondissement, hosts three days of concerts, workshops, and meetings dedicated to gospel music.
The festival offers two evenings of concerts featuring high-level gospel choirs, a springboard stage giving amateur choirs the opportunity to perform in a professional setting, and an initiation workshop in gospel singing open to all. The program mixes American gospel traditions and French creations, in a vibrant and communicative atmosphere that unites music lovers, singers, and the simply curious.
The Lyon Gospel Festival upholds values of sharing, solidarity, and joy. Each edition supports a charitable cause: the Institute of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (IHOP) in 2021, the association Pour un Sourire d'Enfant in the following years. The first edition had the honor of welcoming China Moses, a renowned Franco-American singer, as the festival's godmother.
Since its creation, the festival has continued to grow. The 5th edition in 2025 confirms the event's place in Lyon's cultural landscape. The Palais de Bondy, with its historic architecture and warm acoustics, offers an ideal setting to experience the communicative energy of gospel. A September weekend not to be missed for all those who love to vibrate to the sound of voices.
