Marathon, half-marathon and 10 km in the heart of Mont-de-Marsan
The Marathon des Landes is the annual major running race in Mont-de-Marsan, organized each autumn by Stade Montois Omnisports. Offering three distances — marathon (42.195 km), half-marathon (21.1 km), and 10 km — this sporting event runs through the streets of the Landes prefecture and its surroundings, showcasing the medieval heritage of Mont-de-Marsan with the Lacataye keep, historic alleys, parks and gardens, and the Marsan greenway. Accessible to all levels, this festive marathon has established itself since 2018 as a major sporting event in the Southwest.
Since 2018, the Marathon des Landes has established itself as the flagship sporting event of Mont-de-Marsan, the prefecture of the Landes. Organized by Stade Montois Omnisports, this autumn gathering brings together thousands of runners of all levels each year for a sporty and festive day in the heart of the Gascon city.

The marathon village, located on Place Saint-Roch, is the logistical and festive heart of the event. It is the start and finish area, and also hosts an exhibition space with partner INTERSPORT, catering stands, musical entertainment, and a recovery area for finishers. The warm atmosphere and public encouragement make every finish an emotional moment.
The Marathon des Landes contributes to the sporting and tourist influence of Mont-de-Marsan and the Landes region. The event generates significant economic benefits for local businesses and accommodation, while highlighting the heritage and natural assets of the Landes prefecture.
By car: Mont-de-Marsan is accessible via the A65 motorway (from Bordeaux to the north or Pau to the south). Free parking near Place Saint-Roch and in the adjacent streets of the city center. A special traffic plan is in place on race day with certain streets closed along the route.
By train: Mont-de-Marsan SNCF station, served by TER Nouvelle-Aquitaine from Bordeaux, Dax, and neighboring towns. Place Saint-Roch is a 10-minute walk from the station.
The marathon village is located on Place Saint-Roch, the start and finish point for all events. It includes the partner INTERSPORT stand, exhibitor stands, the catering area, changing rooms, the warm-up zone, and the recovery area for finishers.
Online registration at marathondeslandes.fr. Progressive fees depending on the registration date: from approximately 25 EUR to 50 EUR depending on the distance and period. Reduced fee for early registrations. The bib includes access to aid stations, electronic timing, and the finisher meal.
Aid stations providing water, isotonic drinks, and solid food (dried fruits, bananas, sugar) are located every 5 km along the course. Sponges are available at aid stations in case of heat.
Hotels, bed and breakfasts, and campsites are available in Mont-de-Marsan and neighboring towns. Booking recommended several weeks in advance as accommodation fills up quickly on marathon weekend.
