Every year in mid-December, Sancerre comes alive to celebrate Christmas in a friendly and festive atmosphere. The wine village, perched on its hill overlooking the Loire, is adorned with decorations and offers activities for the whole family. The main event, "Christmas at the Cellars", allows you to discover the wineries in a festive atmosphere, with tastings and entertainment.

Saturday of Lights: rides and activities

On Saturday, it's time for the "Saturday of Lights". The day begins with carriage rides through the streets of Sancerre, from 10 am to 5 pm, allowing you to discover the village at the pace of the horses. Children can attend gourmet readings at the Petite Maison de la Culture, offered for ages 2 to 6 in the morning and early afternoon.

Christmas at the Cellars: tastings in the wineries

Sunday is dedicated to "Christmas at the Cellars": the wineries and cellars of Sancerre open their doors for festive tastings. At the Château de Sancerre, visitors can taste crepes, mulled wine, and honey from 10 am to 6 pm, and participate in an olfactory tasting "Journey to the heart of the senses" at 3 pm by reservation. At the Domaine Vincent Grall, a Land & Sea workshop offers oyster and wine sales from 10 am to 12 pm. At the historic cellar of Domaine Joseph Mellot, a grand cru chocolate & wine workshop takes place from 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm.
