About Vendredis de Sancerre
Les Vendredis de Sancerre — also known as « Vindredis » — are the flagship summer event in the Sancerre vineyard. Every Friday in July and August, on the terrace of the Maison des Sancerre overlooking the hillsides and the Loire Valley, a winemaker from the appellation comes to present and offer tastings of their wines.
Organized by the Union Viticole de l'appellation des vins de Sancerre, in partnership with the Syndicat des Crottins de Chavignol, this friendly gathering allows visitors to discover the diversity of Sancerre white, rosé, and red wines in direct contact with the producers, in an exceptional setting.
A summer event in the heart of the Sancerre vineyard
Les Vendredis de Sancerre — the « Vindredis » for regulars — punctuate the summer in the appellation. Every Friday in July and August, on the panoramic terrace of the Maison des Sancerre, a different winemaker comes to present their wines, explain their terroir, and share their harvest with the public.
Meet the appellation's winemakers
The principle is simple: nine Fridays, nine encounters with producers from the 14 communes of the Sancerre appellation. Visitors taste Sancerre white (Sauvignon blanc), rosé, and red (Pinot noir) wines, as well as Pouilly-Fumé from the neighboring vineyard, directly from the winemakers. The latter explain their work, from the vine shoot to the bottle, and reveal the subtleties of the Sancerre terroirs: white soils (Kimmeridgian marls), limestone pebbles (caillottes), and flint.
A friendly atmosphere on the terrace
The terrace of the Maison des Sancerre, perched above the village and overlooking the vineyards down to the Loire, offers an ideal setting for these open-air tastings at the end of the day. The atmosphere is relaxed, conducive to exchanges between enthusiasts, passing visitors, and inhabitants of the Sancerrois region, during the long summer evenings.
Wines and cheeses: the partnership with Chavignol
The event benefits from a partnership with the Syndicat des Crottins de Chavignol, a neighboring AOP produced in the hamlet of Chavignol, a few kilometers from Sancerre. Enthusiasts can thus pair the appellation's wines with this emblematic goat cheese from Berry.
Discover the AOC Sancerre
Les Vendredis de Sancerre are an ideal gateway to discover the AOC Sancerre, one of the most prestigious appellations of the Loire Valley, proud of its 90 years (the AOC Sancerre was created in 1936). The vineyard extends over nearly 3,000 hectares spread across 14 communes. The geological diversity of the terroir gives Sancerre wines a great aromatic richness and a characteristic minerality.

The 2026 edition of Les Vendredis de Sancerre (the «Vindredis») takes place every Friday in July and August, from July 3 to August 28, 2026, on the terrace of the Maison des Sancerre. Nine Fridays, nine winemakers to meet: a friendly event to discover the wines of the Sancerre appellation directly from the producers, in partnership with the Syndicat des Crottins de Chavignol.

Every Friday, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, a winemaker from the appellation comes to present their wines on the panoramic terrace of the Maison des Sancerre. The detailed calendar of winemakers and communes honored will be communicated by the Union Viticole de Sancerre throughout the season, on sancerreaop.fr and at the Maison des Sancerre.
Chavignol cheese partnership
The 2026 edition renews the partnership with the Syndicat des Crottins de Chavignol, allowing the tasting of Sancerre wines to be paired with this emblematic goat cheese from Berry.
