About Bourges Contemporain
An artistic breath of fresh air
Created in 2019, Bourges Contemporain is an event supported by Bourges Plus and co-founded by the City of Bourges, Antre Peaux, and the École Nationale Supérieure d'Art de Bourges. Each edition is an artistic breath of fresh air, a meeting between art and life that reveals another face of the territory.
Contemporary art and territory
Contemporary art takes over several locations during the summer season, offering an original discovery of the territory. The program mixes established artists and emerging young talents, offering a broad panorama of contemporary creation without being limited to just art stars.
Towards Bourges 2028
Bourges Contemporain is part of a long-term vision: to promote to all European citizens a territory that is a pioneer in artistic creation, transmission, and innovation, with the horizon of Bourges 2028. The festival allows for the discovery of a field of creation that is sometimes invisible but very much alive.
