About Temps Fort Compagnies 36
The Temps Fort is the flagship event of Collectif Compagnies 36, a group of around twenty professional performing arts companies and organizations based in the Indre department. Companies showcase their work—ranging from finished productions to works-in-progress—to both the general public and industry professionals. The event also hosts workshops and discussions on culture in rural areas. Each edition is held in a different town across the department: Vatan in 2021, Le Magny in 2022, Bélâbre in 2024, and Châteauroux in 2026.
Temps Fort Compagnies 36 — edition 2026
The Collectif Compagnies 36 is hosting its fourth "Temps Fort" festival at Équinoxe, the national stage in Châteauroux, on Friday, September 25th and Saturday, September 26th, 2026. Featuring eighteen performances by professional companies from the Indre region, the program includes object theater, dance, circus, magic, puppetry, musical readings, a closing DJ set, and an exhibition open throughout both days. A preliminary event will take place on July 24th, 2026, in the Saint-Jean neighborhood.
Temps Fort #4, Châteauroux 2026
The "Temps Fort" is the signature event of the Collectif Compagnies 36, where local companies showcase their work—whether finished productions or works-in-progress—to both the general public and industry professionals. Following editions in Vatan (2021), Le Magny (2022), and Bélâbre (2024), the fourth edition comes to Châteauroux in two parts.
The first part, "En piste!", takes place on July 24th, 2026, in the Saint-Jean district, following seventy hours of artistic workshops held for residents of the Saint-Jean, Beaulieu, and Vaugirard neighborhoods. Activities include circus arts with Raoul Petit (La Cloche), storytelling with Corinne Lancement (Ymankpadar), dance with Tiphaine Babin and Hassen Ben Gharbia (Aile), and a special project with women centered around the show "Vortex" by Émilie Renoncet (Barda Cie).
September 25th and 26th at Équinoxe
The second part takes over Équinoxe, the national stage of Châteauroux. The collective, which brings together twenty-one companies based in the Indre, will present eighteen shows across various venues: the Main Hall (Grande Salle), the Chapelle des Rédemptoristes, La Maisonnette, the Lobby (Hall), the Forecourt (Parvis), and the Café.
Friday begins with two morning shows for young audiences, followed by four works-in-progress and short pieces in the afternoon, before shifting to music and dance in the evening. The official opening takes place at 5:00 PM in the Café. Saturday’s schedule runs from a surprise breakfast at 9:30 AM to a DJ set by Didier de la Biaude at 10:00 PM, including a snack-and-chat session with high school students at 4:30 PM. The exhibition "Les restes humains" by Giovanni Ortega (La Bolita) will be on display throughout the event.
As of mid-August 2026, the collective has not yet released pricing or ticketing information for this edition.
