Two Christmas Markets in Ussel

The town of Ussel, in Haute-Corrèze, hosts two complementary Christmas markets each year in December, animating different districts of the town. The city center Christmas Market takes place on Place de la République and Place Célestin Lafon, while the Train Station Christmas Market transforms the railway district into a Christmas village. This dual programming allows it to reach a wide audience and animate the entire town during the holiday season.

City Center Christmas Market: Place de la République

The traditional Christmas Market of Ussel's city center is held on Place de la République, the historic heart of the town, generally on the third weekend of December. In 2024, it took place on December 22nd from 10 am to 6 pm. In 2025, two days were scheduled: December 7th on Place Célestin Lafon and December 20th and 21st on Place de la République. Visitors can discover chalets from local artisans and Corrèze producers, offering handmade creations and local products.

Train Station Christmas Market: Railway Christmas Village

The Train Station Christmas Market takes place in the Ussel train station district, generally on the first weekend of December. In 2024, it was held on December 8th and 9th from 9 am to 5 pm, transforming the district into a Christmas village with its wooden chalets, festive decorations, and entertainment. This complementary market helps to animate another area of the town and offers visitors a second opportunity to do their Christmas shopping with local artisans and producers.

Artisans, Producers, and Festive Atmosphere

Both Ussel Christmas Markets showcase local artisans and producers from Haute-Corrèze: jewelry makers, woodworkers, ceramists, honey producers, jam makers, foie gras producers, cheese makers, charcuterie makers... Visitors can find original gifts while supporting the local economy. Entertainment punctuates the markets: Santa Claus, mulled wine and hot chocolate, music, food stalls... The warm and friendly atmosphere makes these markets an anticipated event for the residents of Ussel and Haute-Corrèze.

Organization by Bouge Ta Ville and OCAHC

The Ussel Christmas Markets are organized by the association Bouge Ta Ville and the Office de Commerce et d'Artisanat de Haute-Corrèze (OCAHC), in collaboration with the municipality. These local actors work throughout the year to animate the town and promote local commerce and crafts. The Christmas markets are one of their flagship events, contributing to Ussel's attractiveness during the holiday season.
