The Marché de Noël de Bagnolet: Creativity, Participation, and Shared Celebration

Every December, the town of Bagnolet offers a Christmas market that reflects its image: creative, participatory, and rooted in local values. Located in Place Salvador-Allende, this market takes place over three days, from December 13th to 15th, from 1:30 PM to 7:30 PM, bringing together artisans, local creators, and associations in a festive and warm atmosphere.

A Market of Committed and Local Creators

The selection of exhibitors for the Marché de Noël de Bagnolet prioritizes handmade creations, upcycled items from reuse and transformation of recovered materials, and quality artisanal productions. Visitors can discover:

  • Handmade jewelry crafted by creators from Bagnolet and the Île-de-France region
  • Dried flowers and floral arrangements for home decor or gifts
  • Upcycled items — lamps, vases, accessories — made from recycled or repurposed materials
  • Artisanal pastries: cakes, Christmas cookies, homemade jams
  • Textile creations: clothing, bags, fashion accessories made locally

This eco-responsible approach is in keeping with the tradition of Bagnolet, a town committed to sustainable development and responsible consumption.

The Batucada: Festive Musical Atmosphere

On Sunday morning, December 14th (from 11 AM to 12:15 PM), a batucada — a Brazilian percussion group — will liven up the market with its infectious rhythms. This open-air musical performance creates a festive and energetic atmosphere that delightfully contrasts with the wintery setting, inviting visitors to dance between the stalls.

Creative Workshops for Everyone

The Orangery at Place Salvador-Allende will host participatory workshops accessible to all ages:

  • Participatory Coloring (1 PM to 4 PM) in the Orangery, where children and adults contribute to a large collective Christmas mural
  • Creative Workshops (2 PM to 4 PM) to make Christmas wreaths and origami gift boxes, guided by creative facilitators

Christmas Shows and Magic

The entertainment program doesn't stop there. A magic show (2 PM to 3 PM) will enchant children and adults alike, while Santa Claus will be present on Saturday and Sunday afternoons for souvenir photos and magical moments with the youngest visitors.

The Lantern Parade: A Magical Evening Moment

The highlight of the event is undoubtedly the Lantern Parade, organized at 6 PM at the Château de l'Étang. Lanterns will be distributed to participants starting at 5 PM, allowing everyone to get their own light before joining the parade. This illuminated procession through the castle grounds offers an unforgettable moment of collective enchantment, bringing together young and old in a procession of lights that spectacularly concludes the market.
