Reenactment of harvests and ancient crafts in Tarbes
The Festival of Threshing and Traditions is a popular event that brings back to life the agricultural traditions and crafts of yesteryear in the Hautes-Pyrénées. This historical reenactment day immerses visitors in the atmosphere of the early 20th-century countryside.
The heart of the festival is the old-fashioned threshing demonstration. Enthusiasts operate threshers, old tractors, and vintage harvesters to show how harvests were done in the past. These machines, carefully restored and maintained, bear witness to the hardship of peasant labor and the technical ingenuity of the time.
Artisans bring ancient crafts to life through live demonstrations: blacksmithing, weaving, upholstery, basketry, spinning, and other traditional skills. Visitors can observe and interact with these heritage enthusiasts.
