24th Pyrenean Dog Festival 2026
The 24th edition of the Pyrenean Dog Festival will be held on September 19 and 20, 2026, at the Parc Thermal du Casino in Argelès-Gazost. On the program: French Agility Championship on Saturday, National Breeding show for Catalan, Pyrenean Mastiff, and Pyrenean Shepherd breeds on Sunday, artisan village, and European Heritage Days.

Programme Pyrenean Dog Festival 2026
Saturday, September 19, 2026
- 9:00 AM — French Agility Championship for Pyrenean breeds, confirmations and behaviour tests
- 11:00 AM — European Heritage Days: musical aperitif
- 5:00 PM — Agility competition awards ceremony
- 5:30 PM — Departure of the canine parade towards the city centre and reception in the presence of the municipality (Mail de l'Église)
Sunday, September 20, 2026
- 8:00 AM — Special Agility, in partnership with the Club des Rives de l'Adour
- 9:00 AM — Start of judging for all classes (Pyrenean Shepherd, Catalan Shepherd, Great Pyrenees, Pyrenean Mastiff) and 'sheepdog' tests
- 12:00 PM — Musical meal prepared by the Confrérie de la Garbure
- 3:00 PM — End of judging followed by demonstrations
- 3:30 PM — Ring of Honour: parade and designation of the best subject of each race
Throughout the weekend: exhibitions, book and craft fair, gourmet and craft village, face painting and inflatable games for children, on-site catering.

The Pyrenean Dog Festival is the unmissable event for all lovers and breeders of the iconic Pyrenean dog breeds. For over 20 years, the Parc Thermal du Casino in Argelès-Gazost has hosted this exceptional gathering, attracting enthusiasts from around the world.
Four Pyrenean breeds in the spotlight
The competition features the four dog breeds originating from the Pyrenees:
- The Pyrenean Shepherd, small and lively, a traditional flock guardian
- The Catalan Shepherd, hardy and intelligent
- The Great Pyrenees (Patou), majestic flock protector
- The Pyrenean Mastiff, powerful and imposing
A rich program of activities
In addition to the national and international breeding shows, the festival offers a French Agility Championship for Pyrenean breeds, a gourmet artisan village, Pyrenean folklore, carriage rides, a garbure meal under a marquee, and activities for children. The event coincides with the European Heritage Days, enriching the cultural program.
