The Pyrenean Dog Festival is the unmissable event for all lovers and breeders of the iconic Pyrenean dog breeds. For over 20 years, the Parc Thermal du Casino in Argelès-Gazost has hosted this exceptional gathering, attracting enthusiasts from around the world.
Four Pyrenean breeds in the spotlight
The competition features the four dog breeds originating from the Pyrenees:
- The Pyrenean Shepherd, small and lively, a traditional flock guardian
- The Catalan Shepherd, hardy and intelligent
- The Great Pyrenees (Patou), majestic flock protector
- The Pyrenean Mastiff, powerful and imposing
A rich program of activities
In addition to the national and international breeding shows, the festival offers a French Agility Championship for Pyrenean breeds, a gourmet artisan village, Pyrenean folklore, carriage rides, a garbure meal under a marquee, and activities for children. The event coincides with the European Heritage Days, enriching the cultural program.

24th Pyrenean Dog Festival 2026
The 24th edition of the Pyrenean Dog Festival will be held on September 19 and 20, 2026, at the Parc Thermal du Casino in Argelès-Gazost. On the program: French Agility Championship on Saturday, National Breeding show for Catalan, Pyrenean Mastiff, and Pyrenean Shepherd breeds on Sunday, artisan village, and European Heritage Days.
