About Gelos en Musiques
Since its inception in 2021, Gelos en Musiques has brought concerts to various iconic locations throughout the town near Pau. The festival was founded by violinist Sophie Castaing, a Gelos native trained at the conservatories of Paris and Rueil-Malmaison. Under her artistic direction and the presidency of Jean-Pierre Castaing, the association curates a diverse annual program—spanning classical, jazz, world music, and chanson—designed for a wide audience, often with a focus on community participation.
A special evening is traditionally set aside for the residents of the Val Fleuri retirement home, a tradition upheld since the very first edition.
Gelos en Musiques — edition 2026
For its 6th edition, Gelos en Musiques kicks off with the duo Hylia and their Celtic-inspired compositions, presents two concerts for young audiences based on "Peter and the Wolf," and wraps up the weekend with Les Harmonautes, an ensemble featured at the Avignon Festival that builds its performance through improvisation with the audience.
