Animation Cinema in the Spotlight in Metz

The Metz International Animation Film Festival (FIFAM) is an annual event dedicated to animation cinema in all its forms. Created by the Ligue de l'enseignement – FOL 57, this festival takes place every year during the winter holidays at the Le Klub cinema in Metz, offering a rich and diverse program that highlights the creativity and diversity of global animation filmmaking.

An International Selection

Award-Winning and Independent Films

Each edition of FIFAM presents a selection of award-winning works from international festivals and independent films from around the world. Feature films, short films, experimental films, and student films make up a program that offers a comprehensive overview of contemporary animation production, from traditional techniques to digital innovations.

Previews and Retrospectives

The festival offers highly anticipated previews, allowing the Metz audience to exclusively discover the season's animated films. Retrospectives dedicated to studios, directors, or artistic movements complete the program and provide historical and aesthetic insights into the art of animation.

Meetings with Professionals

FIFAM is a place for meetings and exchanges with animation professionals. Masterclasses led by directors, animators, and producers allow the public to understand the behind-the-scenes of creation. Discussions after screenings offer the opportunity to delve deeper into the themes addressed by the films.

A Festival for All Audiences

Young Audience Activities

True to its educational mission supported by the Ligue de l'enseignement, FIFAM places great importance on the young audience. Special screenings for children, introductory workshops on animation (stop-motion, cartooning, flipbook), and fun and educational activities complement the film program.

Themed Evenings

The festival also offers themed evenings for adult audiences, such as Valentine's Day night dedicated to romantic animation, combining screenings, entertainment, and conviviality in a festive atmosphere at Le Klub.

Le Klub, the Festival's Venue

The Le Klub cinema, an art-house theater located in the heart of Metz, offers an intimate and warm setting for the festival. Its usual programming, focused on independent and auteur cinema, makes it a natural venue to host an event dedicated to auteur and international animation.

FIFAM — edition 2026

6th edition of FIFAM at Le Klub cinema. Selection of award-winning and independent animation films from around the world, masterclasses, meetings, and a special Valentine's Day evening.
