A Festival Born from Musical Passion

Created in 2022 by the Municipal Conservatory of Maizières-lès-Metz, the Mondes Sonores festival is a musical event that invites the public to travel through the cultures and musical aesthetics of the world. Each edition unfolds around an original theme, offering a rich and varied program combining professional concerts, multidisciplinary performances, and participatory workshops.

A Different Musical Journey Each Year

The strength of Mondes Sonores lies in its ability to renew the experience year after year. The first edition in 2022 was dedicated to North American music, while the second edition in 2023, titled "Let's Dance!", explored the links between music and dance. The third edition in 2024, "From Here and Elsewhere", celebrated the diversity of local and international musical cultures. Each theme helps unite professional artists, teachers, and conservatory students around a common artistic project.

A Multidisciplinary Program

The festival offers a full week of events: concerts of contemporary and traditional music, dance performances, introductory music workshops for children, artist meet-and-greets, masterclasses, and moments of conviviality. Conservatory students actively participate in the program, performing alongside invited artists in a spirit of transmission and sharing.

The TRAM, the Festival's Cultural Venue

The festival primarily takes place at the TRAM, the performance hall of Maizières-lès-Metz, located at 1 avenue Marguerite Duras. This modern cultural venue hosts concerts and performances with optimal acoustic conditions. Other venues in the city may also be used depending on the edition, such as the conservatory's halls and public spaces.

A Partnership with INECC Mission Voix Lorraine

The festival benefits from the support and expertise of the INECC Mission Voix Lorraine, a resource center for music and voice in the Grand Est region. This partnership enriches the program and integrates Mondes Sonores into a dynamic regional cultural network, ensuring recognized artistic quality.

A Family-Friendly and Accessible Event

Mondes Sonores stands out for its commitment to accessibility. The festival offers shows for young audiences, workshops adapted for younger children, and concerts open to everyone. Admission is free or at a low cost for most events, in a spirit of cultural democratization dear to the municipal conservatory.
