Festival of kustom culture between motorcycles and urban arts in Hossegor
Mot & Arts is a festival dedicated to kustom culture, organized in Soorts-Hossegor in the Landes region. Created in 2015 by the association Hapchot Wheels, this free event celebrates the mix between customized two-wheelers and urban arts between nature and the ocean. Sand racing, mechanic artisans, custom motorcycle exhibitions, concerts, and gastronomy make up a program that attracts thousands of enthusiasts and curious visitors each year.
Born in 2015 from the passion of a group of friends united within the Hapchot Wheels association, the Mot & Arts festival has become in a few editions an unmissable event for kustom culture in the Southwest of France. The association, created in January 2015 in Hossegor, brings together motorcycle enthusiasts, local lifestyle, custom culture, graphic arts, and music.
Mot & Arts offers a rich program that explores all dimensions of kustom culture:
Between pine forests, the lake, and the Atlantic Ocean, Soorts-Hossegor offers an exceptional natural setting to host a kustom culture festival. The beach, with its fine sand and mythical waves, becomes the stage for spectacular sand races, while the town areas host exhibitions and concerts.
True to the spirit of sharing and accessibility of kustom culture, Mot & Arts is an entirely free festival. More than 15,000 visitors were welcomed during the second edition in 2016, confirming the public's enthusiasm for this unique event. The festival attracts motorcycle enthusiasts, families, and the curious alike, in a relaxed atmosphere typical of the Landes coast.
Mot & Arts illustrates the vitality of contemporary kustom culture by blending mechanical traditions inherited from the 50s-60s with current artistic expressions. The festival is also a meeting place for artisans, artists, and enthusiasts from all over France and Europe.
By car: Soorts-Hossegor is accessible via the A63 motorway, exit Capbreton-Hossegor, then follow signs for Hossegor center and beach. Public parking available in the town center and on the seafront. Due to crowds, it is recommended to arrive early or use park-and-ride facilities and walk to the site.
By train: Bayonne SNCF station (approx. 25 km), accessible by TGV from Paris and Bordeaux. From Bayonne, take the XL'R network bus line 4 to Hossegor, or carpool.
By bike: Cycle path connecting Capbreton to Hossegor along the coast. Bicycle parking available at the festival site.
The festival takes place over a three-day weekend. It opens on Friday evening with a festive opening night. Saturday and Sunday offer a full program during the day and evening, with sand races generally on Saturday morning, continuous exhibitions, and evening concerts.
Custom motorcycle exhibitions (choppers, bobbers, café racers, scramblers, and vintage vehicles) are presented by their creators, who are happy to share their know-how and passion. Mechanic artisans perform live demonstrations. The visual arts area hosts artists specializing in tattooing, screen printing, painting, and illustration related to the kustom universe.
Food trucks and local catering stands offering a variety of dishes. Bar with local Landes craft beers, cold drinks, and cocktails. The festival promotes eco-cups and eco-responsible practices.
