Mot & Arts: Kustom Culture Comes to Hossegor

Born in 2015 from the passion of a group of friends united within the Hapchot Wheels association, the Mot & Arts festival has become in a few editions an unmissable event for kustom culture in the Southwest of France. The association, created in January 2015 in Hossegor, brings together motorcycle enthusiasts, local lifestyle, custom culture, graphic arts, and music.

A Multifaceted Festival

Mot & Arts offers a rich program that explores all dimensions of kustom culture:

  • Sand racing: spectacular races of customized motorcycles and vehicles on the sand of Hossegor beach
  • Exhibitions: custom motorcycles, choppers, bobbers, café racers, and vintage vehicles presented by their creators
  • Mechanic artisans: demonstrations of know-how by custom motorcycle builders and preparers
  • Visual arts: painting, illustration, tattooing, screen printing, and graphic arts related to the kustom universe
  • Concerts: rock, garage, and blues music programming in line with the festival's spirit
  • Gastronomy: food trucks and local catering to accompany the festivities

Hossegor: An Ideal Setting

Between pine forests, the lake, and the Atlantic Ocean, Soorts-Hossegor offers an exceptional natural setting to host a kustom culture festival. The beach, with its fine sand and mythical waves, becomes the stage for spectacular sand races, while the town areas host exhibitions and concerts.

A Free and Popular Event

True to the spirit of sharing and accessibility of kustom culture, Mot & Arts is an entirely free festival. More than 15,000 visitors were welcomed during the second edition in 2016, confirming the public's enthusiasm for this unique event. The festival attracts motorcycle enthusiasts, families, and the curious alike, in a relaxed atmosphere typical of the Landes coast.

A Bridge Between Tradition and Modernity

Mot & Arts illustrates the vitality of contemporary kustom culture by blending mechanical traditions inherited from the 50s-60s with current artistic expressions. The festival is also a meeting place for artisans, artists, and enthusiasts from all over France and Europe.
