Grand celebration of rare and collectible plants in the Landes
Floralinxe is the grand celebration of rare and collectible plants in Linxe, in the heart of the Landes. This free event brings together over sixty nursery owners, producers, and artisans in a two-hectare wooded park. Visitors discover rare plants, aromatics, seeds, and fruit trees. Activities, botanical workshops, food trucks, and the famous wheelbarrow taxis complete this day dedicated to plant biodiversity and gourmet pleasures.
Floralinxe is a major horticultural event that celebrates plant biodiversity in the enchanting setting of Parc Dufau in Linxe, a village in the Landes region located about thirty kilometers north of Dax. Every autumn, this plant festival attracts thousands of gardening, botany, and nature enthusiasts.
Floralinxe brings together over sixty nursery owners, producers, and artisans from the West of France. The exhibitors offer an exceptional range of rare and collectible plants, plants from here and elsewhere, aromatics, seeds, and fruit trees for gourmet forests. Artisans—potters, basket weavers, creators—showcase their skills and floral creations in the heart of the village.
The festival takes place in Parc Dufau, a two-hectare wooded estate in the heart of the village of Linxe. Visitors stroll under the shade of tall trees, between the producers' stalls and exhibition areas, in a peaceful and bucolic atmosphere. The community hall and its surroundings also host artisans and local producers.
One of the most iconic elements of Floralinxe is the wheelbarrow taxi service. Volunteers with wheelbarrows offer to transport purchased plants to visitors' vehicles for a small tip. This original, practical, and friendly service has become the festival's trademark and contributes to its warm atmosphere.
Throughout the day, activities punctuate the event: botanical workshops, gardening technique demonstrations, advice from nursery owners, and guided walks in the park. Food trucks and catering stands offer a varied gourmet selection, allowing visitors to eat on-site in a relaxed atmosphere.
Floralinxe is an entirely free and eco-responsible event. The organization prioritizes short supply chains, respect for the environment, and the promotion of plant biodiversity. The festival helps raise public awareness about the preservation of rare species and garden diversity.
