The Movies on the Rocks festival arrives in Blain for an even more ambitious second edition, from May 29 to 31, 2026 at the Cinéma Saint-Laurent. Conceived by Alan Simon and supported by Cinéma Saint-Laurent in partnership with E.Leclerc Blaindis, the festival offers an original concept combining live concerts and screenings of cult films in a friendly and accessible atmosphere.
The event stands out with a rare and prestigious program, mixing renowned artists and cinematic works that have sometimes become impossible to find. Several films will be screened in 4K restored versions, offering the public exceptional viewing conditions.
Among the guests of this edition are Cali, the festival's patron, Alan Simon, John Helliwell from the band Supertramp, as well as Andrea Balestri, the unforgettable interpreter of Pinocchio in Luigi Comencini's film. All artists will be present to meet the public, sign autographs, and interact with spectators throughout the weekend.
The program will notably feature screenings of Woodstock, The Great Dictator, Soylent Green, Dersu Uzala, and Dead Poets Society, accompanied by exceptional concerts such as Jazz Tramp, Cali & Guests, and Excalibur, the mythical concert.
One of the festival's highlights will be the world's unique screening of The Adventures of Pinocchio (1975), in the presence of Andrea Balestri, with a live interpretation of the film's musical themes after the screening.
Conceived as a popular and demanding cultural event, Movies on the Rocks aims to offer the Blain area an artistic event of national scope, while retaining the warm and local spirit of Cinéma Saint-Laurent.
