Le Ciné est dans le Pré: Cinema for the Rural World

Every year in November, the cinema Le Nozek in Nozay, an Art and Essay cinema labeled for Young Audiences, organizes the festival Le Ciné est dans le Pré. This cinematographic event, born from the desire to highlight the realities of the rural world through the seventh art, has become an unmissable event for cinephiles and citizens sensitive to environmental and societal issues in Loire-Atlantique.

A Committed and Eclectic Program

The festival offers about twenty carefully selected films, mixing documentaries, fiction films, and previews. The program is structured around three strong thematic axes:

• Rurality: films that give a voice to rural inhabitants, explore the changes in the countryside, agricultural practices, and rural lifestyles
• The Environment: works that question our relationship with nature, biodiversity, climate change, and ecological transitions
• Societal Issues: stories that address contemporary social, economic, and human challenges through the lens of the territory

Among the notable films shown in previous editions are titles such as Croquantes, Les Folies Fermières, Utama: The Forgotten Land, Le Chêne, Mission Regeneration, A Bond That Lifts Us, and The Little Victories.

Film-Debates to Go Further

One of the festival's unique features is the offering of film-debates, in addition to screenings, hosted by directors, specialized speakers, or local associations. These discussion sessions allow the audience to delve deeper into the themes addressed in the films and to exchange perspectives on rural and environmental issues.

A Festival Supported by Two Partner Cinemas

Le Ciné est dans le Pré is organized by the cinema Le Nozek in Nozay in partnership with the cinema Paradiso in Nort-sur-Erdre. This collaboration between two Art and Essay cinemas in the Erdre & Gesvres territory expands the programming offer and reaches a wider audience in northern Loire-Atlantique. Screenings take place in both cinemas throughout the festival.

An Accessible and Friendly Event

True to its mission as an associative and popular cinema, the festival applies a single price of €4 per screening, making cinematographic culture accessible to the greatest number. This pricing policy, combined with the quality of the programming and the warm welcome, makes Le Ciné est dans le Pré a special moment of sharing and discovery for the residents of Nozay and surrounding towns.
