The Fête de la Musique in Anglet

As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Anglet, on the Basque Coast, into a popular and free musical event every June 21st. For the 2026 edition, which falls on a Sunday, the City of Anglet highlights lyrical art and great voices.

A tribute to Béatrice Uria-Monzon at Théâtre Quintaou

The highlight of the 2026 edition is an evening titled « Béatrice Uria-Monzon, Evocation », held at Théâtre Quintaou. This concert pays tribute to mezzo-soprano Béatrice Uria-Monzon, a prominent figure of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine lyrical scene who passed away in 2025, and who graced stages worldwide for forty years.

Under the artistic direction of Pierre Martinez, the program brings together mezzo-soprano Marina Viotti, soprano Manon Lamaison, and pianist Edwige Herchenroder. It revives the artist's world through excerpts from great operas — La Traviata, Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Samson et Dalila, Carmen, Le Chevalier à la rose — as well as piano pieces by Ravel.
