Anglet Jazz Festival: Jazz in the heart of the Basque Country

Since 2008, the Anglet Jazz Festival has been a highlight of the Basque Coast's musical calendar, celebrating jazz and improvised music. Originally launched as "Jazz sur l'herbe" by the Arcad association, this open-air musical picnic has evolved into a full-fledged jazz festival, managed since 2014 by the Clef de Jazz association.

A unique format: indoors and outdoors

The festival spans four days, blending two complementary experiences. From Thursday to Saturday evening, the Théâtre Quintaou, Anglet's iconic performance venue, hosts three nights of double-bill concerts, offering audiences a chance to discover diverse ensembles in an acoustically perfect setting. On Sunday, the festival returns to its roots with the "Jazz sur l'herbe" day at Parc de Baroja, a lush green space where the public can enjoy a musical picnic in the open air.

An eclectic and high-caliber program

Each edition provides a panorama of contemporary jazz, ranging from vocal and Latin jazz to gypsy jazz and improvised music. The festival showcases both established artists and emerging talents, with lineups spanning from trios to big bands. Jam sessions at the Écuries de Baroja keep the evenings going in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.
