Every June 21, Saint-Chamond celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): amateur musicians, conservatory students, choirs, and local groups play for free in the city's streets and squares. Organized by the City of Saint-Chamond, the evening is entirely free, friendly, and open to all.
Music Festival in Saint-Chamond — edition 2026
On Sunday, June 21, 2026, the Fête de la musique in Saint-Chamond will take place at Parc Nelson-Mandela for a free evening, organized for the first time in partnership with the Atout Monde association. Four bands will take the stage, ranging from Mirabelles Kitchen to headliners Les Têtes Raides, with music also spreading to the Chavanne and La Valette neighborhoods.
June 21, 2026, falls on the same weekend as the 29th edition of La Rue des Artistes (June 19–21), a festival launched in 1998 by Atout Monde. This coincidence happens every 5 or 6 years. Consequently, the City and the association are co-organizing the Fête de la musique on the third day of the festival, featuring a free day of events on Sunday.

The Fête de la Musique in Saint-Chamond
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Saint-Chamond, in the Loire region, into an open-air stage every June 21. On the occasion of the summer solstice, music freely takes over public spaces: neighborhood stages, open-air concerts, street performances, and entertainment in bars and restaurants follow one another from early evening until late into the night.
A festival spread across several neighborhoods
The Fête de la Musique usually unfolds in several neighborhoods of Saint-Chamond, with local stages set up throughout the city and a highlight in the evening in the center. You'll find contemporary music groups as well as choirs, conservatory ensembles, and the Union Musicale de Saint-Chamond, offering a wide variety of styles, from rock to world music, gospel, and French chanson.
