Every June 21, Saint-Chamond celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): amateur musicians, conservatory students, choirs, and local groups play for free in the city's streets and squares. Organized by the City of Saint-Chamond, the evening is entirely free, friendly, and open to all.
The Fête de la Musique in Saint-Chamond
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Saint-Chamond, in the Loire region, into an open-air stage every June 21. On the occasion of the summer solstice, music freely takes over public spaces: neighborhood stages, open-air concerts, street performances, and entertainment in bars and restaurants follow one another from early evening until late into the night.

The Fête de la Musique usually unfolds in several neighborhoods of Saint-Chamond, with local stages set up throughout the city and a highlight in the evening in the center.
