About Chestnut Fair
The Pavezin Autumn Fair, formerly the Chestnut and Walnut Fair, is the village's annual event in the Loire region of the Pilat. It takes place on a Sunday in October in the parking lot and surrounding area of the La Galoche hall, located at 1155 route du Col. Visitors can enjoy local produce and craft stalls, children's entertainment, a refreshment bar, and a meal featuring the traditional saucisse à la grappe. Admission is free.
The event is organized by the Association Sportive Sainte-Croix Pavezin (ASSCP), which marks the 2026 edition as the 15th. While the 2023 and 2024 announcements still referred to it as the Chestnut and Walnut Fair (the 2023 edition was held with the Maranch'Loisirs association), the town hall introduced the name 'Autumn Fair' in 2025, a title the ASSCP has adopted for the 2026 edition.

2026 Edition
On September 24th, 2026, the Association Sportive Sainte-Croix Pavezin announced the 15th edition of the fair, taking place on Sunday, October 18th, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the E.R.A. parking lot in Pavezin. The event is now presented under the name Autumn Fair.
The program features a wide range of exhibitors, artisanal and local goods, children's entertainment, food and drink stalls, and the famous 'saucisses à la grappe'. Exhibitor space reservations are now open online via HelloAsso.
Previous Editions
The fair was previously held on Sunday, October 22nd, 2023, Sunday, October 20th, 2024 (the 13th edition according to the ASSCP), and Sunday, October 19th, 2025.

A village fair in the heart of the Pilat
Pavezin is a commune within the Pilat Regional Natural Park, in the Loire department, nestled between the Rhône and Gier valleys. The village pass sits at an altitude of 652 meters. The Autumn Fair is held on a Sunday in October at the La Galoche hall, the village's rural community center located at 1155 route du Col.
What to expect
Exhibitors showcase a variety of local and artisanal goods. Past entertainment has included a bouncy castle for children, a brass band, and a hip-hop demonstration around 2:30 PM. Volunteers prepare the traditional saucisse à la grappe, served in the La Galoche hall starting at noon, while the local football club runs a refreshment and snack bar.
A change of name
For many years, the event was known as the Chestnut and Walnut Fair, a name still used by the ASSCP for the 2024 edition. The town hall began using the name 'Autumn Fair' in 2025, and the ASSCP has officially announced the 2026 edition under this new title.

The date does not always fall on the third Sunday of October; for instance, in 2023, it fell on the fourth.
