Every June 21, Saint-Herblain brings together several hundred musicians for its Fête de la Musique (Music Festival) in the heart of Parc de la Bégraisière. Jazz, classical, electro, pop, rock, and songs share several open-air stages. Organized by the Maison des Arts, the day is entirely free and open to all, from amateur ensembles to confirmed musicians.
The Fête de la Musique in Saint-Herblain
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms public spaces into open-air stages every June 21. In Saint-Herblain, the second largest city in the Nantes metropolitan area, the festival is concentrated in the green setting of Parc de la Bégraisière: several hundred musicians, both amateur and professional, perform there for free throughout the afternoon.

Organized by the Maison des Arts, the event features several thematic stages spread throughout the park, from the media library terrace to the open-air theater. You'll find wind orchestras, contemporary music workshops, African percussion, a batucada, and steel drum ensembles. Two participatory highlights are offered to the public: a concert open to amateur musicians alongside the Orchestre d'Harmonie Herblinois, and the Karaorchestra, a giant karaoke accompanied by live musicians.
