Nant/Co: Korean Cinema in Nantes

Created in 2022 by the Printemps Coréen association, Nant/Co is the Korean film festival of Nantes. Each year, for a week at the end of winter, the festival takes over four cinemas in the Nantes region to offer the public a rich and varied panorama of contemporary and heritage Korean cinema.

A Program Between Discovery and Retrospective

The Nant/Co program is structured around several axes: recent Korean films that are new or rarely shown in France, retrospectives dedicated to great directors (Lee Chang-dong in 2025), cine-concerts mixing live music and screenings, as well as family screenings with animated films. Each edition highlights a different aspect of Korean cinematic culture.

Memorable Events

For its 4th edition in 2025, Nant/Co opened with a cine-concert by musician E'Joung-Ju and double bassist Simon Mary accompanying Lee Jonghoon's film Architect A. The Lee Chang-dong retrospective allowed for the (re)discovery of masterpieces such as Poetry, Burning, Peppermint Candy, and Oasis, accompanied by the documentary An Art of Irony by Alain Mazars.

A Festival Rooted in Printemps Coréen

Nant/Co is part of the broader activities of the Printemps Coréen association, which has been working for several years to promote Korean culture in Nantes and Loire-Atlantique. The festival benefits from the support of the Korean Cultural Center and local partners, contributing to the influence of Korean cinema in France.

Four Partner Cinemas

The festival unfolds in four cinemas in the Nantes region, including Le Cinématographe in Nantes, thus offering wide and accessible distribution of the programmed films. Screenings are accompanied by meetings, debates, and exchanges with Korean cinema professionals.
