The festival combining artistic creation and environmental protection in Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry
Created by the Department of Seine-et-Marne, the Nature en Culture festival embodies an original vision of a cultural event: a gathering that places nature and environmental protection at the heart of its artistic programming. Located on the Raymond Sachot Sensitive Natural Area in Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry, a 37-hectare green space on the banks of the Seine, the festival transforms this preserved natural site into a playground for artists and the public.
The Raymond Sachot Sensitive Natural Area (ENS) is one of the jewels of Seine-et-Marne's natural heritage. Situated in the town of Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry, 45 km south of Paris, this 37-hectare park runs along the banks of the Seine and is home to remarkable biodiversity: flowery meadows, wetlands, woodlands, and discovery trails. It is in this preserved setting that the festival unfolds its installations, workshops, and performances, inviting the public to immerse themselves fully in nature.
The Nature en Culture program is based on a rich offering of participatory workshops combining artistic creation and environmental education:
In addition to the workshops, the festival features live performances that take advantage of the natural setting. Musical storytelling, improv theater performances, interactive walks combining singing and dancing, and concerts (blues, R&B, electronic soul) punctuate the day and evening, creating a poetic and festive atmosphere in the heart of nature.
True to its environmental commitments, the festival offers eco-responsible catering provided by vegetarian and vegan caterers, as well as local craft breweries. Short supply chains and organic products are prioritized, in line with the values promoted by the event.
Nature en Culture is organized by the Department of Seine-et-Marne as part of its policy to promote Sensitive Natural Areas. The festival is part of an initiative to raise public awareness about the challenges of biodiversity preservation and ecological transition, while demonstrating that culture and nature can nourish each other.
The Nature en Culture festival returns for its 5th edition on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the Raymond Sachot Sensitive Natural Area in Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry. This free, family-friendly event will offer a new program combining eco-creative workshops, land art installations, nature introductions, live performances, and concerts in an exceptional natural setting of 37 hectares on the banks of the Seine.
True to its values, the festival will highlight the link between artistic creation and environmental protection, with eco-responsible catering and workshops to raise awareness about biodiversity.
