The Loire as a beach, Nevers as a backdrop
Nevers Plage sets up every summer on the Plateau de la Bonne Dame, an 8,000 m² area set up by the Loire, offering Nevers residents and visitors a place for relaxation, leisure, and conviviality during the two summer months. Deckchairs, parasols, sand, and lawn: everything is there to create a holiday atmosphere in the heart of the city, with the exceptional panorama of the royal river as a backdrop.
Over 180 free activities
The Nevers Plage program is impressively rich, with over 180 free activities spread throughout the summer. Sports activities — beach volleyball, pétanque, fitness, yoga, zumba, paddleboarding initiation — are alongside art workshops (sculpture, drawing, calligraphy) and ecological awareness programs combining discovery of the Loire's fauna and flora with daily eco-friendly actions.
First aid training is also offered, making Nevers Plage a place for entertainment but also for learning and citizenship. Specific activities are planned for children, families, and teenagers.
Concerts at the Beach Bar and supervised swimming
The Beach Bar, the convivial heart of Nevers Plage, offers 26 concerts from Tuesday to Saturday evenings (until 10:30 PM), featuring an eclectic musical program mixing French chanson, reggae, jazz, pop, and world music. The supervised swimming area in the Loire allows for safe refreshment on the hottest days.
An eco-responsible space
Nevers Plage is committed to an eco-responsible approach with a lounge area furnished with recycled wooden furniture, designed by municipal teams. This approach combines relaxation and ecological commitment, in the spirit of an event that values the Loire as a natural heritage to be preserved. The July 14th fireworks display, launched from the riverbanks, is the highlight of the summer with over 30,000 spectators.
Nevers Plage — edition 2026
2026 Edition — from July 1st to August 31st
Nevers Plage is once again setting up on the Plateau de la Bonne Dame, by the Loire, from July 1st to August 31st, 2026. The site is open every day from 9 AM to 11 PM, with free and open access.
Free activities renewed every week
The program offers about twenty free activities renewed every week — divided into three main families: well-being (relaxation, meditation, yoga), arts and culture (creative workshops), and outdoor sports (beach volleyball, fitness, water activities). Over the two months, nearly 180 events will take place, accessible to children and adults alike.
42 free concerts at the Bar de la plage
The Bar de la plage hosts 42 free concerts throughout the summer, in various styles (blues, pop-rock, DJ sets, chanson, world music), as well as themed evenings (paella, barbecue). You can listen to the concerts while enjoying on-site catering (food trucks) facing the Loire.
Supervised swimming and July 14th fireworks
Supervised swimming in the Loire allows you to cool off with a view of the Pont de Loire and the cathedral. Water activities are enhanced from July 15th to August 21st. The highlight of the summer, the July 14th fireworks, are launched from the Pont de Loire at 11 PM and attract over 30,000 spectators, followed by the firefighters' ball at 11:45 PM at the Quai des Mariniers. A free shuttle Coursi'plage serves the site every 20 minutes (11:15 AM-7 PM, except July 14th and August 15th).

- By car: Nevers is accessible via the A77 or A71. Free parking near the Plateau de la Bonne Dame.
- By train: Nevers SNCF station then local bus or a 20-minute walk.
- By bus: Taneo network, stop near the site.
Opening Hours
Nevers Plage is open from July 1st to August 31st, every day. Activities take place during the day, concerts at the Beach Bar in the evenings from Tuesday to Saturday.

Free entry. All activities are free. Food and drinks at the Beach Bar.
