Nevers Plage returns for its tenth year to the Plateau de la Bonne Dame, along the banks of the Loire, from July 1st to August 31st, 2026. The site is open daily from 9 am to 11 pm, with free access for everyone. The official season opening takes place on Saturday, July 4th at 6 pm.
Free activities updated weekly
The program features around twenty free activities that change every week, categorized into three main themes: well-being (relaxation, meditation, yoga), arts and culture (creative workshops), and outdoor sports (beach volleyball, fitness, outdoor activities). Over the two months, nearly 180 sessions will be held, suitable for both children and adults. The beach reception desk, open daily from 11 am to 7 pm, handles workshop registrations (06 99 53 62 29).
Water games and misters: no swimming in 2026
Please note a significant change this year: swimming in the Loire is prohibited for the 2026 season. To help you cool off, the city has installed numerous water games and misters, while sun loungers on the sand invite you to relax while facing the Loire bridge and the cathedral.
Over fifty free concerts and DJ sets
The beach bar brings your evenings to life from Tuesday to Sunday with a packed schedule of free entertainment: rock, pop-rock, variety, salsa, tribute acts (Johnny Hallyday, Goldman, Nirvana), DJ sets, themed nights (disco, white party, 80s, Latino, house), open stages, and blind tests. Enjoy the music with your feet in the sand, with on-site dining available — reservations recommended at 06 30 06 61 49.
Access and July 14th
A free Coursi'plage shuttle serves the site every 20 minutes, daily from 11:15 am to 7 pm (except July 14th and August 15th). Note for 2026: by decision of the Prefect of the Nièvre, due to exceptional circumstances, no fireworks were launched on July 14th in the department and the firefighters' ball did not take place; the pyrotechnic show is postponed to a later date to be announced by the city. The military parade and the Municipal Harmony concert will proceed as planned.

Getting There
- By car: Nevers is accessible via the A77 or A71 motorways. Free parking is available near the Plateau de la Bonne Dame.
- By train: Take the train to Nevers SNCF station, then catch a local bus or enjoy a 20-minute walk.
- By bus: Use the Taneo network; there is a stop right near the site.
- Free shuttle: The Coursi'plage shuttle runs to Nevers Plage every 20 minutes, daily from 11:15 am to 7:00 pm (except on July 14th and August 15th).
Opening Hours
Nevers Plage is open from July 1st to August 31st, every day from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm. Activities take place during the day, while concerts are held at the beach bar in the late afternoon and evening, from Tuesday to Sunday. The beach reception desk is open daily from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Admission
Admission is free. All activities and concerts are free of charge. Food and drinks are available at the beach bar; reservations are recommended by calling 06 30 06 61 49.
Swimming
Swimming depends on river conditions each year and is not guaranteed: it is prohibited for the 2026 season. Water games and misting stations are installed on-site to help you cool off. Please check with the city before your visit.

The Loire as a beach, Nevers as a backdrop
Nevers Plage sets up every summer on the Plateau de la Bonne Dame, an 8,000 m² area set up by the Loire, offering Nevers residents and visitors a place for relaxation, leisure, and conviviality during the two summer months. Deckchairs, parasols, sand, and lawn: everything is there to create a holiday atmosphere in the heart of the city, with the exceptional panorama of the royal river as a backdrop.
Over 180 free activities
The Nevers Plage program is impressively rich, with over 180 free activities spread throughout the summer. Sports activities — beach volleyball, pétanque, fitness, yoga, zumba, paddleboarding initiation — are alongside art workshops (sculpture, drawing, calligraphy) and ecological awareness programs combining discovery of the Loire's fauna and flora with daily eco-friendly actions.
First aid training is also offered, making Nevers Plage a place for entertainment but also for learning and citizenship. Specific activities are planned for children, families, and teenagers.
Concerts at the Beach Bar and supervised swimming
The Beach Bar, the convivial heart of Nevers Plage, offers 26 concerts from Tuesday to Saturday evenings (until 10:30 PM), featuring an eclectic musical program mixing French chanson, reggae, jazz, pop, and world music. The supervised swimming area in the Loire allows for safe refreshment on the hottest days.
An eco-responsible space
Nevers Plage is committed to an eco-responsible approach with a lounge area furnished with recycled wooden furniture, designed by municipal teams. This approach combines relaxation and ecological commitment, in the spirit of an event that values the Loire as a natural heritage to be preserved. The July 14th fireworks display, launched from the riverbanks, is the highlight of the summer with over 30,000 spectators.
