The magic of Christmas at the Château de Chantilly
The Enchanted Christmas of Chantilly transforms the Château de Chantilly and its Great Stables into a magical place every year for the holiday season. From mid-November to early January, the estate offers an enchanting program combining an equestrian Christmas show, a nocturnal visit to the castle, family creative workshops, sumptuous decorations, and entertainment for all ages. This winter event, in the magnificent setting of the princes of Condé's castle, offers a unique experience where the magic of Christmas meets heritage and equestrian art.
Every year, from mid-November to early January, the Château de Chantilly dons its festive attire to offer visitors an unforgettable Enchanted Christmas. The estate, owned by the Institut de France, transforms its spaces—castle, park, and Great Stables—into a magical universe where the magic of Christmas meets heritage and equestrian art.
A must-see highlight, the Christmas equestrian show by the Compagnie Équestre du Château de Chantilly takes place in the Grandes Écuries, an architectural masterpiece of the 18th century. In 2025, the show "L'Arche d'Or", inspired by the worlds of The Little Prince and Pinocchio, tells the adventure of Éloi, a young dreamer blacksmith who sets off in search of a fabulous treasure. Acrobatics, vaulting, and poetic staging enchant spectators of all ages.
The Enchanted Evenings offer nocturnal visits to the castle, where the state rooms are enhanced by exceptional Christmas decorations and lighting. Visitors wander through the galleries and princely apartments, discovering the castle from a magical and intimate perspective.
Numerous workshops are offered to families during the Christmas holidays: learning to make whipped cream with the Confrérie des Chevaliers Fouetteurs, an introduction to illumination to create Christmas cards like in the Middle Ages, and the Bal des Couleurs, a fun and creative workshop for the whole family.
The castle is fully decorated for Christmas with sumptuous trees, fairy lights, and floral arrangements that adorn the lounges, the painting gallery, and the reception areas. The park is illuminated and offers winter strolls in an enchanted setting.
The Château de Chantilly, former residence of the princes of Condé, houses the Musée Condé, the second-largest collection of old paintings in France after the Louvre. The Grandes Écuries, built in the 18th century, are among the most beautiful in Europe and house the Horse Museum.
