Traveling festival of emerging music in Nantes
Born in April 2025 under the impetus of the production company Krumpp, Nouvel Orage established itself from its very first edition as an unmissable event for lovers of emerging music in Nantes. The festival draws its identity from a bold premise: to offer a programming without headliners, entirely focused on discovering unique artists who blur the lines between rap, R&B, pop, electro, and alternative music.
Nouvel Orage is a traveling festival that each year takes over several emblematic venues of the Nantes and metropolitan music scene. In 2025, the festival unfolded in five locations — Le Ferrailleur, Stereolux, Décadanse, Macadam, and New Factory — chosen for their suitability with the musical aesthetics and target audiences. In 2026, the second edition expands its geography by taking over Le Ferrailleur, Portevent, and La Barakason in Rezé.
The strength of Nouvel Orage lies in its ability to bring together unclassifiable artists, whom programmer Perrine Delteil describes as "gender fluid in terms of musical genres." The festival programs everything from rap-song-R&B to reggaeton-baile funk, from avant-garde pop to eclectic DJing. Among the artists who marked the early editions are: Dalí, Miki, Satine, Divin0, Andy4000, Asinine, Adés The Planet, Jean, Arøne, Dakeez, TH, Ève, Romsii, Bonne Nuit, and Marcia.
True to its role as a trailblazer, Nouvel Orage rejects the logic of headliners and streaming numbers. The festival aims to be a springboard for a new generation of artists who are as diverse as they are avant-garde, offering visibility to talents that are pushing the boundaries of the contemporary French music scene. This approach, driven by Krumpp — an independent structure expert in organizing concerts, parties, and festivals in the Grand Ouest since 2015 — is part of a broader ecosystem including other brands like MŌbb, Halo, Minuits, and Boomin Fest.
The Nouvel Orage festival returns for its second edition from April 16 to 25, 2026, taking over three venues in the Nantes metropolitan area: Le Ferrailleur and Portevent in Nantes, as well as La Barakason in Rezé. True to its promise of an artistic storm that shakes up conventions, the festival continues its mission as a springboard for a new generation of emerging artists.
The second edition confirms the festival's musical identity at the crossroads of rap, R&B, pop, and electro, with about ten artists scheduled:
More artists and surprises are yet to be announced to complete the lineup.
For this second edition, Nouvel Orage expands its map by taking over Portevent, a new cultural space on the Île de Nantes, and La Barakason in Rezé, a renowned contemporary music venue in the agglomeration. Le Ferrailleur, a pillar of the Nantes scene, remains a central venue for the festival.
