Living culture at the heart of Nyons
Nyons en Scène is the cultural season of the town of Nyons, located in the heart of Drôme provençale, at the gateway to the Baronnies provençales Regional Natural Park. Every year from October to May, the municipality offers a rich and varied program of about fifteen shows that bring performing arts to life in this town renowned for its Provençal market and its olives.
An eclectic and demanding program
The Nyons en Scène season embraces many performing arts disciplines. Theater, dance, music, French song, new circus, and shows for young audiences are presented in a program that combines discovery and artistic quality. The shows are held in the Coline Serreau hall of the Maison de Pays, a cultural venue located on the Digue promenade, along the Eygues river.
The season is regularly enriched with new disciplines and opens up to innovative artistic forms, while maintaining a commitment to quality and a particular focus on making the program accessible to all audiences.
Highlights throughout the year
Beyond the shows programmed as part of the season, Nyons en Scène is part of a broader cultural calendar that includes national events such as the Printemps des Poètes (Spring of Poets) in March, the Nuit des Musées (Night of Museums) in May, Digue Dondaine in May, and the Fête de la Musique (Music Day) in June. These events complement and extend the cultural dynamic initiated by the season.
Municipal commitment to culture
Supported by the Town of Nyons and its cultural commission, under the impetus of the municipality and the deputy mayor for culture and heritage, the Nyons en Scène season demonstrates the community's commitment to access to culture for all. The program is designed to reach a wide audience, from families to discerning enthusiasts, and contributes to the cultural influence of Nyons and the Baronnies provençales.
A friendly venue
The Maison de Pays, located on the Digue promenade in Nyons, offers a friendly and intimate setting for performances. The Coline Serreau hall, named after the French director and stage manager, allows for a close connection between artists and the audience, which is the charm of this human-scale cultural season, far from large impersonal halls, in the heart of an authentic Provençal town.
