Every year in June, the Organic Milk Festival invites the people of Mayenne to experience a unique event: a 100% organic and local breakfast served directly on the organic dairy farms of the department. Organized by CIVAM Bio 53, this festive and gourmet event is an opportunity to discover the world of organic farming from the inside.

The Organic Milk Festival is above all about human connection. Organic dairy farmers in Mayenne open their doors to:

• Share a breakfast made of fresh milk, yogurt, cheese, bread, jams, and other local organic products
• Give tours of their farm and explain their environmentally friendly and animal-welfare-conscious farming practices
• Discuss the realities of being an organic farmer
• Raise awareness among consumers about the challenges of sustainable agriculture and quality food

A National Event Celebrated in Mayenne

The Organic Milk Festival is a national event that takes place simultaneously in 15 departments and 6 regions of France. In Mayenne, several farms participate in the operation each year, offering visitors a panorama of the diversity of organic dairy farms in the department.

The event takes place in the morning, generally from 9 AM to 12 PM, although some farms extend their welcome until the end of the day. It is a quintessential family event, where children can discover farm animals, watch the milking, and taste fresh dairy products.
