Cinema for Everyone

Created in 2021, the Orry Film Festival was born from the desire to promote cinema in all its forms in Orry-la-Ville, a charming town in the Oise region. This festival is distinguished by its inclusive and educational approach, placing the transmission of cinematographic knowledge at the heart of its project.

An Original Competition

The Orry Film Festival's uniqueness lies in its unique competition format. On one hand, professional short films — fiction and documentaries — are selected and screened as part of the official selection. On the other hand, teenagers and young adults are trained in filmmaking techniques and create their own films, which are then submitted to the same jury as the professional works.

Training and Creation

In the lead-up to the festival, training workshops are offered to young participants: scriptwriting, cinematography, editing, sound, and directing. Guided by film professionals, these workshops result in the creation of short films that are presented during the festival, creating a bridge between learning and artistic creation.

Screenings and Meetings

For three days, the festival offers short film screenings in competition, a feature film for the opening, and meetings with the directors. Exchanges between filmmakers and the public are at the heart of the event, fostering a lively and interactive approach to cinema.

A Demanding Jury

A jury composed of film professionals views all competing films and awards prizes. The originality lies in the fact that films made by young participants are evaluated according to the same criteria as professional works, thus valuing the work and creativity of the apprentice filmmakers.

A Locally Rooted Festival

The Orry Film Festival is a local event that contributes to the cultural animation of Orry-la-Ville and the Creil Sud Oise agglomeration. It strengthens social ties by bringing together residents, young people, and film professionals around a common passion.
