About PHAART

PHAART (Parcours Haut-Adour Art Rencontre et Territoire) is an artistic event that takes place every spring in the Haut-Adour region, around Bagnères-de-Bigorre in the Hautes-Pyrénées. Bringing together more than 70 visual artists, PHAART invites the public to (re)discover the Pyrenean valley through an art trail connecting about twenty exhibition spaces: artist studios, community spaces, galleries, and private venues. Entirely self-financed, without subsidies, PHAART relies on the collective energy of local cultural actors and defends a collaborative and independent economy, in a libertarian and non-commercial spirit.

A unique art trail in the Pyrenees

PHAART is more than a collective exhibition: it's an artistic trail that transforms the Haut-Adour territory into an open-air gallery. Every spring, during a weekend in April, about twenty locations across the region open their doors to present the works of more than 70 visual artists.

Unusual exhibition spaces

The trail takes place in various spaces: resident artist studios, cultural associations, galleries, private homes, and heritage sites. This diversity of locations is an integral part of the artistic experience, inviting visitors to discover the Haut-Adour from a new perspective.

About thirty resident artists

The Haut-Adour region is home to about 30 professional visual artists in residence. PHAART offers them a collective showcase while also welcoming artists from all over France and abroad. The artistic expressions presented are diverse: painting, sculpture, photography, installation, video art, ceramics, and digital arts.

An independent economic model

PHAART stands out for its entirely self-financed economic model, without public subsidies. The event relies on the solidarity and volunteer commitment of local artists and cultural actors, in a spirit of do it yourself and collaborative economy. This independence guarantees complete artistic freedom.
