A Voix Haute: the voice in all its splendor in Bagnères-de-Bigorre

Since 2005, the A Voix Haute festival has made Bagnères-de-Bigorre resonate with the sound of voices and polyphony. Under the artistic direction of Pascal Caumont, this unique festival celebrates song in all its forms.

Song and polyphony in the spotlight

The festival explores the richness of the human voice:

• Traditional song from the Pyrenees and beyond
• Bigourdan, Corsican, Basque, Italian, and Catalan polyphony
• Sacred and profane song
• Contemporary research around the voice

Polyphony of Bigorre

The festival contributes to the revival of Bigorre polyphony, a three-voice vocal art transmitted orally, less known than Corsican or Basque polyphony but just as rich. A Voix Haute works to preserve and transmit this Pyrenean intangible heritage.

Exceptional concert venues

Concerts take place in various locations in Bagnères-de-Bigorre: the church, the Halle aux Grains, the Centre Maintenon, the open-air theater of the Vallon de Salut, and the gardens of the municipal library.
