About Planète en Fête
Planète en Fête: Mayenne's organic and sustainable event
Since 2005, Planète en Fête has been traveling through the towns of Mayenne to celebrate organic farming and sustainable development. Organized by CIVAM Bio 53, the network of organic farmers in Mayenne, this traveling festival changes location each year, allowing different communities to embrace the event and co-create it with the organizers.
A large market of organic producers
The heart of the festival is its organic producer market, which brings together local farmers and artisans. Seasonal fruits and vegetables, cheeses, meats, breads, honey, organic wines, and processed products are offered for direct sale, allowing visitors to discover the richness and diversity of Mayenne's organic production.
100% organic and local meals
Meals entirely prepared with organic and local products are served on-site, offering an authentic and committed taste experience.
A rich and varied program
Beyond the market, Planète en Fête offers a dense program of activities and discussions:
- Conferences and round tables on food, environmental, and agricultural issues
- Citizen debates on sustainable development and ecological transition
- Concerts and shows to liven up the festival evenings
- Screenings of documentaries on agriculture and the environment
- Practical workshops for all ages: gardening, cooking, crafts
An eco-responsible festival
True to its values, Planète en Fête implements an exemplary eco-responsible approach: dry toilets, reusable tableware, waste sorting, photovoltaic compensation of energy consumed. The festival also encourages soft transportation methods: carpooling, public transport, and cycling.
An event co-created with residents
Each year, an organizing committee composed of residents from the host town meets monthly from January to June to prepare the festival. This participatory dimension makes Planète en Fête a true territorial project, rooted in local life and supported by committed volunteers.
Planète en Fête — edition 2026
The 22nd edition of Planète en Fête will take place on Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5, 2026, in Saint-Denis-de-Gastines, Mayenne. A traveling festival organized by CIVAM Bio 53, the event offers two days of free activities centered around organic farming and sustainable development: a large organic producers' market, conferences and debates, workshops, nature outings, shows and concerts (Grand Hôtel, Palladium, Mimosa, Les culs à l'eau…), as well as a 100% organic festive meal.
Planète en Fête 2026: 22nd Edition in Saint-Denis-de-Gastines
For its 22nd edition, the traveling festival Planète en Fête sets up its big tops on Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5, 2026, in Saint-Denis-de-Gastines. As every year, the event is co-constructed with the residents of the host commune and offers two free days combining an organic market, conferences, workshops, nature outings, shows, and concerts. An opening conference is also scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at CinéMajestic in Ernée ("Nourrir sans détruire, illusion ou réalité?" with Eve Fouilleux, CNRS).
Conferences and Debates
The festival gives pride of place to citizen reflection with a series of conferences spread between the big top and the barnum:
- Saturday: pesticide law and environmental protection (Dorian Guinard, Université Grenoble Alpes), Pays de la Loire facing climate change (Samira Rousselière, Oniris VetAgroBio / GIEC), trees as sources of biodiversity (Mickaël Jézégou), practicing outdoor schooling (CPIE Mayenne).
- Sunday: "I.A ou I.A pas?", pooling to re-territorialize food (Bénédicte Dalmais, Institut Agro Rennes-Angers), soil and soil life (Thomas Queuniet, CIVAM bio Mayenne), to the rhythm of the Earth (Pierre Girard), journey into peatlands (Adrien Jacotot), pesticide exposure (Pierre Lebailly, Université Caen Normandie), as well as an exchange with the team of the Au Foin de la Rue festival.
Organic Market, Meal, and Health-Environment Village
The Mayenne organic producers' market (plastic bag-free) remains the heart of the festival. On site, food trucks and "Bistro Loco" provide lunch catering, and a festive meal under the big top is served on Saturday evening (Breton galettes, caramel pork or pesto pasta, followed by a trio of desserts). A health-environment village brings together many organizations over the two days (Avenir Santé, Air Pays de la Loire, CPIE, ARS, Adopta…).
Workshops, Nature Outings, and Shows
Numerous activities punctuate the weekend: vegetable tastings, yoga and meditation, soil observation, biodiversity frescoes, exhibition on chickens (AAREHA), natural instrument making, basketry, pony rides, wooden games, guided nature outings (bird discovery, bat observation, botanical walk, peatland hike), storytelling and young audience shows ("The Man Who Planted Trees" by Compagnie Canopée, Théâtre du Tiroir, puppets).
Concerts
Several concerts enliven the two days: Chorale Twang, Harmonie de Saint-Denis-de-Gastines, the acoustic folk trio Grand Hôtel and the alternative rock of Palladium on Saturday evening; Mimosa and Les culs à l'eau on Sunday.
An Eco-Responsible and Free Festival
True to its values, Planète en Fête is free and implements an eco-responsible approach (dry toilets, photovoltaic compensation, encouragement of carpooling, public transport, and cycling). Only the festive meal on Saturday evening is paid and requires reservation.

Practical information — Planète en Fête
Access
By car: The location changes every year. The 2026 edition will be held in Saint-Denis-de-Gastines. Parking lots are available near the site. Carpooling is strongly encouraged.
By transport: Inquire with the Aléop transport network for connections to the host town.
Practical information
The festival takes place outdoors over two days (Saturday and Sunday), usually in early July. Admission is free.
Organic meals are offered on-site. Bring comfortable shoes and sun protection.
