Animation cinema in the spotlight at Cinéma Le Concorde
The Pont-l'Évêque Animation Film Festival is a major cinematic event in Calvados, organized every winter by the Association du Cinéma Le Concorde, chaired by Michel Lepaisant, who is also president of the UCIA. Since its creation in 2003, the festival has established itself as a must-attend event for animation film lovers in Normandy.
The festival invites the public on a journey into the fascinating world of animation, where imagination knows no bounds. The program blends traditional creations (cartoons, stop-motion) and digital innovations (3D animation, special effects), featuring films for all ages. Each edition offers new screenings, internationally award-winning films, and classics of the genre, with several sessions per day.
The Cinéma Le Concorde offers a unique setting: a former theatre transformed into a cinema in the 1930s, it combines historic walls with state-of-the-art digital equipment. Classified as art-house, it hosts cultural events throughout the year, with the Animation Film Festival being its winter highlight. The friendly and immersive atmosphere of the venue fully contributes to the festival experience.
The Animation Film Festival returns for its 24th edition in February 2026 at the Cinéma Le Concorde in Pont-l'Évêque. Two weeks of screenings celebrating animated cinema in all its forms, from traditional creations to digital innovations.
The program offers films for the whole family, with several daily sessions. Check the Cinéma Le Concorde website for detailed schedules and program.
