Celebration of cider and local produce in one of France's Most Beautiful Villages
The Fête du Cidre et de la Pomme of Beuvron-en-Auge is an autumn tradition that has celebrated the end of apple harvests for over 50 years in one of France's Most Beautiful Villages. Every third Sunday in October, around forty exhibitors offer cider, apple juice, dairy products, and specialties from the Pays d'Auge, accompanied by apple pressing, floral art workshops, wooden games, and musical entertainment.
Since 1972, the Fête du Cidre et de la Pomme in Beuvron-en-Auge has celebrated the end of apple harvests in the enchanting setting of one of France's Most Beautiful Villages. This autumn event brings together thousands of visitors each year in the half-timbered streets of this typical village in the Pays d'Auge, at the heart of the Route du Cidre.
The highlight of the festival is the traditional pressing of apples from the communal orchard on Place Michel Vermughen, using a large press. Visitors leave with fresh apple juice, and children can learn about pressing with a small, adapted press. Around forty exhibitors offer a local market with regional products: cider, vegetables, dairy products, fruits, juices, oysters, tea plants, and flowers, all from the Pays d'Auge.
The day is punctuated by floral art workshops, giant wooden games, pony rides offered by the Picotains equestrian center, and musical entertainment with an orchestra in the village square. Visitors can enjoy meals at the crêperie and pizzeria set up for the occasion, with picnic tables available.
The 55th edition of the Fête du Cidre et de la Pomme is expected on the third Sunday of October 2026 in Beuvron-en-Auge. Apple pressing, a local market, and entertainment in one of France's Most Beautiful Villages.
