Pop sur la Ville: Limoges's Pop and Independent Adventure

Since 1997, the Pop sur la Ville festival has been the autumn gathering for lovers of pop, independent rock, and experimental sounds in Limoges. Driven by the association Melting Pop, this unique festival has established itself as a major player in the alternative music scene in Haute-Vienne and more broadly in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

A Traveling Festival in the Heart of the City

The originality of Pop sur la Ville lies in its traveling format: concerts unfold in several emblematic venues in the center of Limoges. From CCM Jean Gagnant to Espace El Doggo, including Le Petit Jourdan, Le Duc Étienne, Le Zic Zinc, and L'Irrésistible Fraternité, the festival transforms the entire city into a musical stage. The famous Saturday Barathon invites the public to wander from bar to bar to discover free concerts in a festive and warm atmosphere.

A Demanding and Accessible Program

True to Melting Pop's philosophy—offering a cutting-edge musical universe without elitism—the festival offers an eclectic program mixing independent pop, garage rock, experimental music, electroacoustic music, noise, and post-punk. The invited artists, from France and Europe, mingle with emerging talents from the Limoges scene. Concerts are offered at free pricing or free admission, ensuring access for all audiences.

With over twenty-five editions to its name, Pop sur la Ville has contributed to shaping the musical landscape of Limoges. Entirely run by passionate volunteers, Pop sur la Ville embodies the values of sharing and conviviality dear to its founders. The association Hey Beh Té!, a historic partner of the festival, brings its energy and creative spirit to the event.
