The Longpont-sur-Orge village festival

Every year, on the weekend of the Fête de la Musique, Longpont-sur-Orge hosts the Festival du Coquelicot, its popular and free community festival. Organized by the town around the Basilique Notre-Dame-de-Bonne-Garde and the surrounding squares (Place des Combattants, town hall courtyard), the event brings together concerts, family entertainment, and a local market for a full weekend.

Two days of concerts and entertainment

The program features concerts by local bands and emerging talent, activities for children (inflatable games, workshops, escape games, remote-controlled car races, magicians), and sports activities. The festivities spread throughout the town center, creating a friendly, intergenerational atmosphere.

Local market and the traditional aligot

On Sunday, a local market dedicated to short supply chains and local craftsmanship brings together producers and artisans in the village center. The event is also famous for its communal dining experience, which brings together residents and local officials.
