Pour Faire Court: Short Films in the Spotlight in Lyon

Since 2018, the Pour Faire Court festival has celebrated short films in Lyon with an original and accessible format. Organized by the Short Event association, this festival was born from the desire of Lyon students to create their own cinematic event, a space for meeting and sharing where short films reign supreme.

A Thematic and Competitive Festival

Each edition revolves around an imposed theme that guides filmmakers in their creative process. Films, ranging from 5 to 15 minutes, are submitted by filmmakers from all backgrounds—amateurs, film students, and professionals—and selected by an artistic committee. The festival evening features the screening of the competing films, followed by discussions with the creative teams and an awards ceremony.

Three Prizes Awarded

A professional jury and a student jury evaluate the competing films, while the audience votes for their favorite:

  • Jury's Favorite: 500 EUR and a place on the jury for the following edition
  • Student Jury's Favorite: 300 EUR
  • Audience's Favorite: 200 EUR

A Launchpad for Young Filmmakers

Pour Faire Court asserts itself as a true launchpad for young Lyon and French filmmakers. The festival offers valuable visibility to independent short films and fosters encounters between filmmakers, film students, and passionate viewers. The friendly atmosphere and the artistic rigor of the selection make each edition a moment of cinematic discovery.

The Short Event Association

The Short Event association, based in Lyon, has been organizing the festival since its inception. Its goal is to use cinematic codes as vectors of emotion and sharing, making short films accessible to the widest possible audience.
