Blues in freedom on the Tarn peninsula in Ambialet
The Presqu'île Blues festival is a free musical event held every summer on the exceptional site of the Ambialet peninsula, in the Tarn valley. Created in 2008 by the association Presqu'île Music, this blues festival offers two evenings of open-air concerts mixing root blues, folk blues, blues rock, and other variations of the genre. Nestled in a spectacular meander of the Tarn, where the river forms a loop so tight that the peninsula is only about thirty meters wide, the festival offers a natural setting of striking beauty. Free entry, bar and catering on site.
The Ambialet peninsula is one of the most remarkable sites in the Tarn valley. Here, the river forms such a pronounced meander that the strip of land connecting the two banks is only about thirty meters wide. It is in this striking natural setting, between limestone cliffs and flowing waters, that the Presqu'île Blues festival has been held since 2008.
True to the spirit of the blues, the Presqu'île Blues festival focuses on authenticity and conviviality. Over two summer evenings, the program explores all facets of the genre: root blues, folk blues, blues rock, rhythm and blues, and other neighboring influences. The open-air concerts, in the gentle Tarn summer evenings, create an intimate and warm atmosphere where the audience can get up close to the musicians.
The association Presqu'île Music, made up of blues enthusiasts based in Ambialet, organizes this festival with the conviction that music should remain accessible to all. Entry is completely free, and a bar and catering service are available on site. This choice of free entry, combined with the quality of the artists programmed and the magic of the place, makes Presqu'île Blues a charming, human-sized festival that attracts a loyal audience of blues and nature lovers every year.
Ambialet is also an ideal starting point for discovering the Tarn valley, its gorges, its perched villages, and its hiking trails. The Romanesque priory that crowns the peninsula's rock, a listed historic monument, testifies to the strategic importance of this site for over a thousand years.
